“Couples trip!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 31, 2011

We booked a Premium Villa room for us and another couple to share for two nights. When we arrived the room wasnt ready yet (they make it a point to tell you that Check In is at 4pm). So we walked the length of the property to the hotel area pool and had a couple drinks.
The resort is broken down into the hotel area and the villas area. Make sure you know which one you're staying in!
Walked back to the Front Desk to check on the room and was told it still wasn't ready (it was now 2:30) and was told it wasnt. Lounges around the lobby for 2 minutes until they called me and told me they now had one. They explained the delay was due to me requesting an upstairs room near the pool. I dont like people walking on my head and I dont want to hike half a mile to get to the pool and back.
Room was huge, 1 bedroom, 1000 sq ft, jacuzzi in the bedroom, dual bath sinks, stand up shower, full kitchen with appliances and dishes, two fireplaces, walkout balcony with table and chairs and BBQ grill. It was perfect for us.
Unpacked and hit the pool, which was very crowded mid-day but we were still able to get 4 chairs together with umbrellas. They have drink/food servers that come to the pool area, but very scarce, maybe saw them once an hour.
Every hour or so they make everyone get out of the pool to rest, eat, drink, re hydrate, etc. May be a great ploy to get people to buy drinks! They say you're not allowed to bring coolers to the pool ( we even called) but we saw no less than half a dozen people with their own coolers and own drinks. We brought our own from the room as well, but didnt take the whole cooler.
We back to the room around 3 pm and it had not yet been cleaned up, so I went to the Concierge to ask them to request Housekeeping to have it made up, and he asks if I'd like property information and to meet with a sales rep. The property is a Westin Timeshare resort, so I guess this is half expected.
Checkout time is 10 am, and we had a message waiting advising that no late check outs would be granted. For a Monday checkout? They have that many people checking in on a Monday? Hard to believe but we were packed and ready to go nonetheless.
Overall, we really enjoyed our room and the property. We found everything to be quite clean, the pool area had live music, games, and a DJ. We didnt eat at any of the restaurants so cant comment on that, but this was our second trip to the property and would definitely go back again.

Room Tip: Use Hotewire to get the best rates! Request Upstairs and near the main pool.

I found this hotel to be every bit of nice. The room I stayed in was very nice (Room 119) Although it was quite a distance from the main part of the Resort, you were transported to and from your room by hotel staff on a golf cart. (very convenient)

The Staff was professional and friendly. The food was adequate- nothing spectacular, but definitely not the worse. The grounds were well maintained. The fitness area had modern and up to date equipment. The Spa was very relaxing and very clean and offered amenities such as a robe, shower shoes, toiletries. The room I stayed in was quite spacious, had a living area, dining area, patio, bathroom with the tub & toilet located in their an separate area.

Upon checking in you might want to inquire about what your particular room has in it before going to it because another party traveling with me and was expected to have an identical room, did not. They did not have a sofa in their room, but my room had one.

I would classify this facility in the 4.5 star category.

Right upon check in we were very well greeted by the front desk agent, I believe her name was Stephanie. Since we had our pet with us, she right away had a doggy bed and bowl sent to our room. This is our third time staying at the resort, one of the times we stayed at the Villas area. By far, the service at the RESORT area was one million times better. We used the pool, spa, service express, shuttle, and all the services were outstanding and with no complaints. We had a great lunch experience at The Den, our server DUKE, was exceptionally thoughtful, thorough, and very attentive. Various times we ordered food service in the pool area, it was quick, easy, and delicious. With out a doubt this resort has proven to be a great vacation spot. We look forward to our next stay very soon, and are very thankful for the staffs amazing service.

We have been coming here many years with and without our kids. This trip was just us and another couple who had never been to the palm spring area. We asked for an upgraded room and they gave us one overlooking the golf course with a beautiful view. There is underground parking to keep your car out of the heat. The room itself was clean and well maintained, nice decor, etc. The beds are just the most heavenly comfort Ahhh. We both had massage appointments and we called for a ride over which was a very nice service in the sweltering heat. My complaint at the SPA was the robe i was given was sooo tattered inside, lumpy and uncomfortable. I found their closet stash and grabbed another only to find another tattered robe. My next pick was like new so i wore that one. The spa smelled great and had a small pool, sauna and all hair amenities. Afterwards, i told them that i was not impresed with the robes and they apologize profusely and said they would remove the tattered robes from their supply. They gave me a gift bag full of nice sprays, complimentary drink at the pool and mints.

Our friends arrived before checkout and asked to be called when their room was ready. They got the call, were given a room key and when they opened the door, the room clearly belonged to others! They returned to the front desk and were given another room. Later a bucket of champagne was delivered. But there were large smudges of fruit or ketchup in the bucket. They called the front office. At midnight they heard very loud dragging noises outside their room. Apparently staff were dragging an air conditioner unit along the sidewalk. My friends complained, staff apologized and they were sent a fruit basket the next day. Some of the fruit was overripe and moldy so they let the staff know. At the front desk on sunday, they spoke with the manager who comped them with 4 buffet breakfasts and a certificate for a free nights stay in the future.

We used the adult pool. It was nice they had one bc the main pool is loud and filled with people. The adult pool was murky and not clear pool water. You have to telephone in for drinks and food which took at least 45 minutes to deliver. Although we are not supposed to bring our own drinks, we brought a small cooler and sports bottles to fill. The staff did not complain.

We usually dont complain when we travel but believe it is important to let hotel staff know when something is wrong. We dont expect comps in return but it is a good hotel gesture. Bottom line is the hotel itself is very nice compared to others. The issues are with the staff that do not care about quality of service. We paid $100/night for Fri-Sat-Sun checkout so the price was affordable. We will return but will also try other hotels.

Room Tip: always ask for an upgraded room, usually are available and at no charge

We stayed at the resort for one week and would not hesitate to return because the room has everything you could possibly need including a washer and dryer, dishwasher, coffeemaker, silverware, plates, glasses, pots, pans, etc. The staff is friendly and they do an impecable job of cleaning the room. We had a balcony with a table and chairs, bedroom, living room, kitchen, bathroom, and laundry room (in the closet by the front door). Don't forget to have your Starbucks coffee available daily in the main lobby.
Enjoy your stay!

Our suite room was quiet, nicely decorated, spacious and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was good and staff very nice. However, just outside our room were two lagoons that seemed stagnant and smelled bad. We could not sit outside or leave the sliding door open because of the odor. There was also an unattractive 1960's style cinder block wall with holes designed as a privacy screen for the patio. It blocked our view and felt like a prison. We also had trouble finding our way around the property due to poor signs (or no signs, in some areas). Be prepared to walk a long way if your room is in one of the outer buildings. Carry a map with you.

Room Tip: ask for room closer to the main lobby building.
