“Excellent Family Resort”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 12, 2013

We had the best time. My kids (7 and 5 years old) had the best time in the family pool, lazy river and water slide. Nice room, nice view, great food, best time ever! Excellent Family Resort. Great location, near the Living Desert, Kids Discovery Museum and the Aerial Tram

As a parent of a 8 & 5 year old I really appreciate the hotel having numerous amount of Lifeguards in the pool area. This gives my wife and I one less worry and allows us to enjoy ourselves a bit more. We love the look and feel of the property and really enjoy staying at this resort.

We rented a suite for a Bachlorette Party - kids next door were peeking under the door and security said no music after 9:30pm. We were not loud. Disappointed to have spent so much and not get to have the small party we intended.

We booked this trip along with 2 other families as both a birthday celebration trip for me and a getaway for a dear friend and her 2 kids who had just lost their husband/dad. Check in was wonderful and service at the pool was wonderful. That's where it ends. My friend whose husband just passed found a hair in her salad at dinner and all they offered was to get her a new salad from the same hairy bowl. Like others, keys didn't work and it took 20 minutes plus to get into rooms as we kept on having to get replacement keys. I filled out a survey the resort emailed me at the end of the visit and was emailed by a representative from the hotel offering to credit the dinner and give us a reduced rate for one night on a return visit. He requested my response and I did respond - twice. Once to accept and the next to let him know that my friend's card had been charged twice for the room. I never heard back and as of Friday the double charge still stood but she had been credited back for the meal. She just lost her husband and has 2 young kids - the last thing she needs is to be arguing back in forth with a hotel about something that's totally their fault and that has to do with money. I feel horrible as I really wanted it to be wonderful and stress-free for her. Hopefully they'll credit her card soon.

What a fantastic hotel. Beautiful grounds and so tranquil. We had a lakeside room away from splashtopia as it does get noisy..especially on dive in movie nights. Although pool was busy we always got a chair. Bedroom spacious and spotlessly clean. Only negative comment was that we could hear the people in the room above us-they need to work on some soundproofing. All staff so helpful and friendly and the arcade was great for the kids. Didn't eat at Blue ember but the café next to it had excellent food at reasonably prices. We went to the mall just across the road which had gr8 restaurants (babes and cheesecake factory were superb). Also a nice multi screen cinema there. Very close to the living desert zoo (can hand feed the giraffes) and knots soak city. We wouldn't stay anywhere else.

Room Tip: Rooms next to splashtopia can get very noisy-ground floor rooms can have some noise from above

Dear gamann191270,

Thank you for sharing your great experience! We are pleased you were able to take advantage of our central location to visit so many of the desert attractions. We hope to invite you back again for the same great experience and we have noted your issue with second floor noise. Your business and feedback are greatly appreciated.

Sincerely,
Omni Rancho Las Palmas

Rancho Las Palmas has the best service. They really do go the extra mile to make sure their customers are taken care of. I would recommend this place for families with young children since they have Splashtopia, a water park. They also have restaurants across the street, only negative is there is no fast food within walking distance.

This is a FUNNN hotel because of Splashtopia! My 3 kids (ages 15, 13 & 7) and I stayed here Mon-Thurs in July 2013. Paid appx $179/night incl the $28 resort fee. In my opinion, the fee should be waived or included as part of the rate. It was great to see my kids having so much fun on vacation instead of having to entertain them. I got to lounge by the pool but I also joined the fun in the water. Despite all the people, the lines were not long to the waterslides. Yes it was crowded the 3 days we went to the pool, even during the weekdays but if you have a good mindset, it may not bother you.

They dont have too many servers at the pool and we had to track them down to place an order. Nothing too healthy on the pool menu so we asked for a fruit bowl and they complied. Kids loved the chicken tenders. The $12 drinks were overpriced and inconsistent in taste. Once the orders were placed, they were quickly served to us each time. All the staff were very friendly.

They have a coffee shop called the Palms Cafe. I found the 'meal for 4' overpriced and pastries were itty bitty, not like the ones in the display case. The breakfast sandwiches were mediocre. The cafe doesn't offer anything organic or non-GMO. We did not try Embers tho they advertised kids eat free with paid adult meal...Maybe next time.

The room was almost perfect. Building #19. We did not like the slatted door to the bathroom, for noise and privacy. We were on the first floor and could hear the people above us walking and when they used the shower. How do you fix that? Maybe they should charge less. The pillows and beds were super comfy. Everything was very clean. We had a Vista View room right on the golf course. Around dusk, the kids wandered on the course and had a great time. Toads came to the patio after the grass was watered..we enjoyed seeing them. Most of the Vista rooms are very close walking distance to Splashtopia.

The resort is across the street from The River, where we dined at Babe's, had Ben & Jerry's for dessert and shopped.

This was definitely fun for the family. I do not recommend it for couples.

Room Tip: Building 19 is close distance to Splashtopia. End unit has an extra window. First floor rooms can he...
