“Lovely resort, great ammenities”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 13, 2013

I visited this resort with two friends as part of a girls' weekend. I am not typically a "resort person", but my friends are, and all three of us had a great time during our short visit. We stayed in a king suite which was immaculately clean and quite spacious. The staff were helpful and accommodating.

There are lots of fun things to do at the resort - we enjoyed long walks on the extensive trails, which were lit up at night. We hung out at several of the pools and enjoyed ordering drinks, going down the water slide (so fun!), and meeting other travelers in the hot tub. We had breakfast at the property - it was very pricey and nice but not outstanding.

The concierge was very helpful and made a nice suggestion for dinner off property. The resort is a 10-15 minute cab ride from Rancho Mirage. After dinner we had a drink around the immense fire pit and enjoyed the live music.

If I were planning a resort vacation to Palm Springs in the future, I would definitely go here again. My friend who planned the trip frequents resort properties and couldn't wait to bring her two small children, her parents, and her in-laws here for a vacation.

We stayed 4 nights in one of the villas. The villas have small but fully functional kitchens and they all have the Westin heavenly beds - which are very nice. Two flat screen TV's and very good selection of channels.
Choice of swimming pools around the resort. We liked the pool at the east end. Very good for swimming lengths and not crowded. The main pools are nice but crowded - as we were there for a long weekend. Used the main gym which has all the required equipment for a good weight lifting session.

Room Tip: Our first room was at the end of the resort near an intersection so was noisy. They quickly switched...

Birthdays that end with a "0" at the end of year, need to be celebrated in a special way! Staying at the Westin Mission Hills Villas will make this birthday memorable. Visually stunning, the resort is a beautiful getaway from the crowds in Los Angeles where my wife and I live. Looking out from the 2 balconies in our villa, one off the living room and one off the bedroom, we saw a huge expanse of green which was one of the two golf courses. In the distance, behind the golf course, were the San Jacinto mountains - a spectacular view!
You like golf? Got it! Tennis? Got it? Fitness rooms? Got it! Computer access needed? Got it! Beautiful pools and spa's? Got it! Lovely grounds to take a walk? Got it! Cafe's for coffee and/or muffins and scones in the morning? Got it!
More important though was the customer service! You could be staying at an exquisite hotel but if the service and employees are rude, surly, and condescending, your stay could be made miserable!
A big shout-out has to go to Ms. Patricia Cruz at the Villas Front Desk. A class act, incredibly helpful and friendly, Patricia personally insured that the birthday celebration for my wife and I would exceed our expectations. Mr. Jim Moran and Mr. Thorp Thomas---make sure Patricia gets a great job review and give her a sizable raise!!!
But Patricia was not alone - everyone at the Villas did their best to make sure our stay was exceptional. Manouchehr (hope I spelled that correctly), went above and beyond! My wife injured her back so Manouchehr was there whenever my we need a ride to where ever we were going on the property. And, he is extremely personable. Christian, Maria K., Ryan, and Juan sent up birthday cards and lovely gifts to make our celebration even more special!
Ms. Castellano at the restaurant gave us 5 Star service-very charming. Mr. Vitaliy Foux has to be commended since he is the Manager; obviously his work ethic and how he wants his people to perform has filtered down so that all guests are assured of being treated royally.
Lastly, the rooms are in a class by themselves! It's very hard for my wife and I to stay in typical resorts after staying at the Villas. With a fully stocked kitchen, comfortable living room, gorgeous bathroom, and a welcoming bedroom, you couldn't ask for anything more.
We've already booked our return visit during the Thanksgiving holiday!

Room Tip: all the villas are welcoming.

If you are looking for a beautiful resort, surrounded by very friendly staff who aim to please, warm sunshine and luxury, then Westin Mission Hills Villas are for you! Our week was delightful beginning with Jacob, who checked us in with a great attitude and service to boot. He made sure our 40th anniversary was special. Put us in a large villa overlooking the pool with the golf course and mountains in the distance. We participated in the timeshare presentation with Dylan. We were not really in the market to buy a timeshare, but the professional presentation by Dylan was appreciated. We golfed at the resort, tough course, but had alot of fun. The pools are great, the grounds are well kept, the food delicious. We only wish we could go back again next week!

Room Tip: If you want to avoid the noise of little children, ask for the quiet pool area.

My wife and I own a Starwoods timeshare on the east coast and have traded it every other year for many years for the west coast. Staying at the Westin Mission Hills is always enjoyable, relaxing and in a very beautiful part of the USA. There is so much to do in the Rancho Mirage-Palm Springs area. The concierge at the Villas are second to none. They are very informative and helpful. The restaurants in the area are wonderful and the concierge can tell you about all of them. We met the general manager a few years ago and he continues to be very helpful. You of course have the golf, the spa and all the resources of the Westin Hotel. This is a great location with very nice people to help you enjoy it all.

Room Tip: Go with a clear head and just enjoy yourself

Westin Mission Hills is a beautiful property. One of the nicest advantages is that there is a vacation resort area for owners (that is also allows these units to be used as hotel rooms) and a hotel right next to each other...within walking distance. You have more choices for restaurants, activities, spa, etc. The staff cannot do enough to make your stay enjoyable. The overall service is outstanding. I have found this to be true of many Westin properties. Cannot say enough about Westin. Look forward to my next trip!!!

Room Tip: Enjoyed the vacation resort unit facing the pond/lagoon. There are units that face the golf course...

We rented a 1-bedroom premium villa for 5 nights. My husband had a 3-day conference at Westin MIssion Hills Resort & Spa (walking distance from the Villas to the Resort), so we decided to add a couple days rest to that. This was our third stay at these villas. We were particularly grateful for the peaceful surroundings, and the space and amenities that the villas have over typical hotel rooms (living room, kitchen with amenities to cook meals, washer/dryer) because this was a stopover on our way home from nine days in Japan. Being in the villa allowed us to get peaceful rest for a couple days and not eat at restaurants before the conference and then the flight back home to the Midwest.

We will be back again!
