“Pleasant time”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 8, 2013

We had a nice time, decent food and nice enough atmosphere. You do seem to be in a time warp, which isn't always a bad thing. This is not the place for a lasting memory but if you need a decent place with some atmosphere, you could do much worse. The service was sketchy and trying to be fine dining, but it missed the mark.

“Always great food...very fair prices”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 25, 2013

We have been going for years and have never been disappointed.

Great food, very varied menu....very fair prices....entrees include soup or salad.

One word of caution...while the main dining room is beautiful, lively and fun....if you need to carry
on a conversation, ask for the garden room. Very nice, much quieter....same great food.

3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 13, 2013

4 of us went to Shame on the moon on a friday night. Based on all the ratings we were very eager to try it out. Definitely a busy place. Would we return,no we are in La Quinta and we are close to all the great places in Palm Desert. the food was good but not great.

“A Great Birthday Meal!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 2, 2013

I will start this review with the positive. We were greeted warmly at the door and seated immediately. As it was my birthday they all had warm birthday wishes. The comment was since it's you're birthday we'll have a special table in the main dining room. The service was wonderful and very attentive. It was nice sitting in what I'd call and "old school" dining room. We both ordered off the seasonal menu and we both LOVED our meal, my husband got the calf's liver (chef's specialty) and I ordered the flank steak, all done to perfection.

Now the not so positive, the noise level in the main dining room is VERY loud. If there would have been more than just the two of us at our table we wouldn't have been able to hear seat mates. And, this special table the hostess picked for us was right next to the entry to the kitchen, it was very busy. Additionally, they angle the tables very oddly. We were seated at the booth side of the table so we were sitting at an angle to each other, which sounds okay except at 5'9 there was no place for my legs!! Both my husband and myself said how extremely uncomfortable this seating arrangement is! Plus the booth being dated (I'm sure) we both felt we were sitting on a barely padded 2x4 and sloping forward. It was very awkward.

Will we go back? ABSOLUTELY!! But we'll definitely know to ask for a table (not booth) and not in the main dining room.

“Beautiful dinner”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 31, 2013

Make sure to reserve a table in advance. I had to try several times to get the day and time we were interested in. Once seated, the restaurant was empty so I don't understand the difficulty with the reservation time.
The food was great, prices reasonable. The "garden room" is interesting. Obviously an after thought, you feel quite tucked in behind hedges around the walls, hence the reference to the "garden room".
Overall, a nice dinner experience. We will go back although I think there is a bit of snobism around the place...
