[note: written deadpan tongue-in-cheek in my own unique 'dry' Yankee humor]I don't really know if I've truly been to Rancho Dominguez or not. It is for sure that I've been to "East" Rancho Dominguez, which is a Los Angeles County section of unincorporated "island" enclaves totally surrounded by incorporated by infamous "Compton" made widely known by the "gangsta" rappers. Another name for East Rancho Dominguez is, in fact, East Compton. It is not to be confused with Dominguez Hills which is a neighborhood of Carson, CA consisting entirely of California State University, Dominguez Hills.I suppose the only real Rancho Dominguez is a state historical monument located somewhere in North Long Beach, directions to which exist on many a Long Beach traffic sign--but which I defy anyone to actually find and come back with the report, "I have been to Rancho Dominguez."By the way, Editors. Even though it may well be that no-one really knows where this ghost-place, if it exists, may be found--I can tell you one thing FOR CERTAIN; don't try to land at Bangor International in the State of Maine and try to ask your taxi-driver to take you to this California non-landmark site!
