“Inexpensive and freeway close to Folsom area State Parks”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 12, 2014

Stayed here 2 nights in May to attend rowing championships at nearby Lake Natoma. This was super convenient location, and comfortable room with decent AC, water pressure for shower and limited noise from access road off freeway. I liked that it was close to several fast food places, shopping, Waffle house restaurant, Chipotle, etc. the room is clean and mattress firm, it has been renovated and had a nice flat screen television. The bed has a light blanket but the temp. controls worked fine so I didn't miss more "cushy" comforters that hotels generally have. The sink area/bathroom was nice, and there is an ice machine and vending machines for sodas & snacks. I'd made a reservation via phone the day before, but didn't realize the rate they booked me was about $4 more per night than an online check earlier that week, so I asked if they could rebate me the difference and they did. Free coffee in the mornings. I would stay here again -cost effective rate with tax included (about $52). Note there is no pool.

Room Tip: We stayed in room 131, on street level (right side behind office). parking was easy.

Not the Motel 6 of days gone by. Our first clue should have been the people arguing with the manager as we checked in. The room was unsanitary to say the least. Dirty sheets, dark stains on the bed cover, trash in wastebaskets. something blue squirted in tub not rinsed down staining it, mold in the corners of tub bottom dirty also with footprints. No carpet anymore, floors not swept or mopped. As for atmosphere...prostitutes and drug deals in the parking lot, a homeless man sleeping in the trees behind it. Ghetto to say the very least. Couldn't WAIT to leave...I witnessed the money exchanged in both illegal instances so it's obvious the guests aren't worried about management. Someone knocked on our door at 2 am, a man who seemed on drugs tried to beg for change at 11pm as we pulled into parking lot in front of the lobby, no one cared It appears no concern for guests safety. NEVER AGAIN!!!!! The maid never knocked on the door after 7 days we had to ask for service. Complain and you're told no refunds. It's worth the extra money to go elsewhere

The front desk person was a very helpful, and friendly lady. The room was very clean and well designed with a new flat screen TV. The bathroom had new fixtures and was very clean.

This is a budget motel, but has been nicely renovated since my last visit. Not the greatest neighborhood, but a clan place to stay and very accessible from US 50.

Let me start by saying the place is clean, the staff pleasant and its near many restaurants, thats it. There are no true non smoking rooms. Ours as well as the only other available had obviously been smoked in recently. There are ashtrays in the rooms, a couple of shelves rather than drawers,no blow dryer,no coffee machine although it is offered in the office from 7-8am. We had to ask for hand towels and washcloths, the towels are very small and about as soft as sandpaper, the beds are old, uncomfortable, and coming apart. This has soured my desire to stay at ANY Motel 6 again. STAY AWAY!

I was told that I could not check in untill 5:00 pm. I let them know that I would be leaving around 1:00 am and needed to get some rest. The manager said it was not his problem and no check in before 5

Better than average Motel 6 -- desk staff was very friendly and helpful. Room was clean and in good condition. Tube TV, good ice machine. Easy to get on and off the Interstate. Relatively quiet. Surrounding area looked safe. Downside: room had a bit of a stale smell. Price was great relative to neigboring properties.

We stayed for 3 nights over Thanksgiving and found the room to be very clean and recently painted.. The staff were VERY friendly and very helpful. They even called to ensure we were happy with the room - a nice touch! They also gave some helpful advice regarding calling long distance and that saved us a lot of money. For the price ($45 a night) we think that this was good value for money.
