“Pretty good 'que”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 17, 2014

Expect nothing fancy, but do expect to receive some pretty good barbecue. Dickey's is a franchise operation with pretty strict company procedures, menus and recipes. Dickey's smokes for less time than I do and at a slightly higher temp than I do at home. But, it seems to work out just fine. Besides, they do have a schedule to follow. The ribs, brisket, chicken and even sausage are ample in portion size and have a good smoke flavor, with a great smoke ring, demonstrating that the meat was smoked over a hardwood fire. You can add your own sauce and chili peppers if you choose. And, of course, if you add too much heat, there's a bar where you can pick up beer or soda to cool yourself off. It can sometimes be a little crowded at lunchtime, and you have to stand in line to order your lunch, But, the line moves along quickly. It's worth the wait in line. Now I need to find a Dickey's in another town to compare to this one.

“Great Food and Better People”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 15, 2014

Dickey's food is always good and there is lots of it. The best part is the people. Monica and her staff are missed by patrons of the old "Cherry Tree Catering" but at least we get to come to Dickey's to meet and great.

“Great Food in a small town!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 15, 2014 via mobile

This is my favorite place to eat lunch in Porterville. It is great, quick and clean. Not all Dickey's are the same. I've been to a few. This one, BY FAR, is the BEST! Not sure but I have to believe the owner has something to do with it. The employees are nice and as I said before, the food is delicious!! Try the ribs with a side of waffle fries and green beans. Very Good!

“Thank You, Dickey's for coming to town!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 4, 2014

We enjoy trying a new cuisine by choice. My first meal was a smoked chicken sandwich.. Very good!

Then, the fabulous pulled Beef Brisket..Next The ultimate half rack of Ribs. Now, a favorite if not the ribs, is the Hoagie and usually that is filled with the delectable Brisket..

All the meats are well-done (our preference), the bread is fresh; the portions are ample. The flavor is distinct; the meats are tender, succulent, absolutely excellent.

Our choices of sides are Baked Beans, Cole Slaw, and the Green Beans. Probably, the other sides are equally flavorful and tasty but have not tried the others as yet..

The staff is courteous, efficient, pleasant, polite, and inviting.

Take Home is carefully packaged and never an error in what arrives..

Price is affordable.

Had the "Ribs Plate", 2 sides and draft Amber Bock, $14 a good dinner value. Lots of baby back ribs. All very well done, except the ribs a bit dry for my taste. Sauce very good.
