We were fore warned before leaving Ct. that this was the place to go when in town. I pre-chatted with Franny via email b/4 arriving to be sure we would be there when the doors opened on Saturday, after a drive up the coast, arriving in SF the previous eve. Within the first 10 minutes of opening that Saturday, there was a line out the small blue door with faithful followers and opera-goers-to-be, across the street, via live feed from the Met. We snatched up anything that shined of sugar or smelled of cheese; cookies, tarts, quiches, bread and croissants. The next two days we dined like royalty; sweet, salty, flaky or savory, all was the best ever, and I have had fine bakery fare from Paris to New York. This was over the top and served with love and kindness. I could taste the love in every bite. Cannot imagine ever tasting and experiencing anything better, ever. thanks Franny and Barbara, for sharing yourself with your fellow folk. By the way, hours/days are limited and the goods sell out fast, go early or be disappointed!
