“never live in this hotel in winter!!! Never ever !!!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed January 18, 2012

I rent the hotel because there is no hot water in my house. What is the point that I get a hotel room? There is no hot water in the hotel room!!!!!! I wonder why I cannot take a shower at the hotel at night time with hot water in winter. I call the front desk, but they just telling me that the water heater is working, and there is nothing else they can do. I tell them I just want to take a shower, and they say that I can take a shower, but without hot water. I cannot believe they say this!!! OMG!!! They don't even find some one to come here to check. Their attitude is so rude. Nothing you can do is not the way to solve the problem.
What should I do now? Get another hotel room? I really want to take a shower.

Room Tip: This is a perfect hotel for family or business travel. Good enviroment and quiet place. You should g...

We arrived on Thanksgiving day to be told that a "VIP" had asked for a 3pm checkout then the room had to be cleaned. So we left and came back. Our Thanksgiving dinner plans were delayed because of the late check-in. The room did not appear to be clean. Sheets were changed, but the bathrooms were not clean (urine on the toilet, soap scum everywhere, counters not wiped), and the carpet was not only very soiled, but not vacuumed. They should replace the carpet especially in the front of the living area where there is a big round brown spot on light colored carpet. Found someone's flash drive on the floor. Bedrooms are small, no place to put stuff. No luggage racks either. Toilet backed up one day. It was fixed, but the bathroom had greasy black spots where it wasn't cleaned afterwards. We originally requested a quiet room. Our room faced the freeway and although the windows are triple pane, the noise in the morning is very noticeable. Not the standards we were expecting for a Residence Inn.

Room Tip: Get a room facing the courtyard rather than the freeway.

This Residence Inn has been updated recently so rooms have a "new" feel. Very clean and amazingly quiet considering the hotel is just a few feet from I-580. I usually stay at the Marriott next door, but now I'm thinking about staying at the Residence Inn more often. Compared to the Marriott, Residence Inn had better bathroom lighting, more space, some true HD channels, and kitchenette. Wifi was good at Residence Inn, where I've had problems with weak signals at the Marriott. Marriott does have King beds, and Residence Inn only has queens. Did not use the free meals or gym so can't comment on those. It was odd that the gym did not open until 5:30 AM. Marriott gym is open 24/7. No room service at Residence Inn but they have some food for purchase, and they'll grocery shop for you if you given them a list.

Very comfortable place for a long weekend stay with a family. We actually stayed with my daughter and her husband over Thanksgiving. Plenty of privacy, with 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a sitting room with fireplace, complete kitchen and eating area and 3 TVs. Very quiet and clean and a more than adequate breakfast. The price at $149 per night was more than fair. It included a desk area for my husband to use for business purposes, and the desk staff was great about sending faxes for him without charging him. Close to BART for jumping into San Francisco, and close to Stoneridge Shopping center, as well. Great value for the money!

Room Tip: Ask for a suite or 1 room for 4 people to get the 2 rooms with living area.

I stay at this hotel frequently. It is Ok for the price with decent rooms and recently refurbished and (more recently) re-carpeted which made a big difference (removing what looked like sick-stains from some of the corridors!). The breakfast is decent and the evening food has improved a little over the years (now that they seem to have gotten rid of the "all fat, almost no chicken" chicken wings) but is still pretty basic with no real effort put into it.

They have notices to make you think they are environmentally friendly - like "hang up your towel if you don't want it replaced" but they never honor them - they take your towel no matter where you hang it and replace it. The toilets are frequently leaky and constantly run water into them which is such a waste of 1000s of gallons I suspect. Last year they took the light switches out of the gym so now the lights (far too many and far to bright) are on all the time as are the TVs in the gym. If you care about the environment this is definitely not the place for you.

The worst thing is their internet access. My last stay I went a whole weekend with the internet down. This stay it was down all day yesterday, up for a few hours today and then down again with no estimate of when it will be back (I am typing this in the Marriott hotel next door). Even when it is up the performance is woeful and frequently it is unusable and hard to get their connection page up. They use AT&T. The Marriott next door uses iBahn and the speed is awesome. They really need to sort this out if they don't want companies like mine to move elsewhere.

Room comfort is Ok. Considering the living area isn't large it is well equipped. Pots and pans are sometimes in poor condition with rounded bottoms that don't sit on the stove elements (I bring my own frying pan as the ones they have are frequently unusable). Fridges are large but very noisy. If you get a studio you either have to be able to sleep with a lot of noise or you have to unplug it during the night. Can't be that hard to get a quiet fridge/freezer. I always opt for the 1-bedroom rather than the studio so I have the bedroom door between me and the noise. Room sound-proofing is generally good with a few rooms near the lifts/laudry/motorway a bit too noisy but most ok.

The rooms are pretty dark with only 1 window in each room. Summerfield Suites not far away had much lighter rooms which made them feel more airy and welcoming. On dull days the rooms are very dark. The desk is a good size but has a drawer in it meaning it is not comfortable to sit at - to get the correct angle for your arms when typing you need to push the seat right up so your legs are hard against the desk - no idea why they make desks like this when most people will use them for a laptop (they are ok for writing at but horrible for typing at). The desk chair is comfortable and always in good condition.

Overall I like the hotel but if you need reliable internet I would go elsewhere as doing business from it is way too unreliable. With reliable internet I would give a 4 rating instead of 3.

Room Tip: 1 of the 2 main buildings, not the smaller 3rd building out by the motorway (or at least, not on the...

Whenever we are staying in the east San Francisco Bay the Residence Inn in Pleasanton is our choice. The hotel is clean, comfortable and modern. The staff is over the top friendly and helpful. Large rooms with kitchenette, pool, weight room and full breakfast all for a relatively low price. Centrally located. You won't regret this as your choice so long as you don't need a 5-star resort.

Room Tip: Ask for an upgrade to a one bedroom

i stayed here in before Nov 2010 as i was working temporary for a company near the area, it was the best value i ever got, a free breakfast every day with a variety of choices and a light dinner 4 days a week plus a shuttle that take you every day from and back to work... the premises are well maintained, not very busy, the gym is small but does its purpose, room are large and clean and many amenities are included even some candies!! I do recommend this hotel for any one visiting for business to this area, you wont be disappointed

Room Tip: high floor room with a swimming pool view
