“A pleasant surprise for Pleasanton”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 7, 2013

We chose the Rose Hotel for a last minute trip to Pleasanton and were really pleased with the entire experience. The hotel is right in the heart of downtown and a perfect location for the shops and restaurants. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful and the rooms were spacious and comfortable. It has the feel of a bed and breakfast but with luxury. I would not hesitate to stay here again - it is, by far the best option in the area. You will really enjoy your stay here. I will be back for sure.

An upscale Bed and Breakfast is probably a fair description of our property. Thank you. Tom Walker, Sales Manager

It is not worth to stay there. It looks nice from the outside, but horrible thing can happen to you if you are unfortunate to fall sick while staying with them. We felt that we were treated differently, their housekeeping staffs are very unfriendly, with don't care attitude. Our credit card was charged for $162.25 extra charge weeks after you checked out. When checking in, they ask you to initial something that said if you damage their property, they have the right to charge you for the damage. To our surprise, we used their towels and linens when we were there, they claimed that they had to throw away those items we used, and that indeed accuse us causing damage to their hotel and charge our credit card that much extra for one night.
If you have already book, be very careful to sign anything with them, and you should take picture of items you used before you leave, so they (the housekeeping people) can not accuse you if they happen do not like your color.

Room Tip: 1. Read what you sign or initial 2. Take picture of the room, of all the towels, linens that you...

What an amazing stay! If you are traveling for business and are working in the Stoneridge area, stay here. It is just a 4 mile drive from Stoneridge and it is a luxury. They have thought of everything from a french press in all the rooms to comfortable robes and slippers. The hotel immaculate and the service impeccable. I would highly recommend the Rose and can't wait to stay again.

Anytime I travel to the East Bay I try to stay at The Rose in downtown Pleasanton. The rooms are beautiful, the bathrooms are awesome complete with a jet bathtub. Breakfast is very nice. They have thought of all the details there. It's very romantic and close to very good restaurants.

Large rooms with nice amenities, spacious bathrooms, good breakfast. Recommend this hotel for business as well as for visit to nearby wineries, nice alternative to major chain hotels. Covered parking garage and walking distance from many restaurants in quaint downtown village.

Your observations pretty well sum up the major criteria for the design of The Rose, i.e. downtown location with spacious rooms suitable for business and leisure travelers. Thank you.

We have family that lives in Pleasanton, so we stay here when we come to visit. It has become like our second home. The staff is warm and friendly. We like the never-empty cookie jar and bowls of candy around the lobby. The breakfast room/lobby/sitting room is inviting and serves as a bar in the evenings that is even open to the public. It is furnished like a beautiful living room with a fireplace. The guest rooms are large, each room is entered through a foyer, and the soft green decor is very soothing. Rooms are delightfully decorated with every amenity provided, Peete's coffee (our fav) is available for brewing in the room. There are fresh roses everywhere, including a single one spotlighted in every room. The marbled bathrooms are large with jacuzzi tub plus an over-sized shower. Main street beacons just outside the front door and is a delightful place to wander. Great restaurants abound.

It is music to our ears to hear our property described as a "second home". It pretty well sums up what we try to offer our guests here at The Rose. Thank you for taking the time to note why you enjoy your time here. It will be helpful to other guests looking for something out of the ordinary. Hope to see you again soon. Regards, Tom Walker

This wonderfully managed hotel is an oasis when working away from home. Fresh flowers around lobby daily, fruit, cookies and snacks 24x7, complimentary bottled water in rooms, 15+ restaurants in neighborhood, bar in lobby catering to guests and business locals all contribute to this being a superb property..... Stay here if you can afford five star accommodations.

Thank you for your positive comments which seem to affirm our pricing policy, i.e. bundle all of the services into one price. Thus in addition to an extra large, luxuriously furnished room, the rate includes an extensive continental breakfast, WiFi throughut the property, covered/lighted parking, fresh roses and snacks 24/7, bottled water, and passes to a local full-service athletic club. Hopefully this meets the criteria for good value and that you will return in the near future.
