Looking for a nice place for a brithday dinner, we wandered back into "Creekside Place" a shaded group of shops on historic Weber Creek--the top of the gold vein that brought about the 1849 Gold Rush in California. Overlooking the creek, we found Cafe Luna. We had a large group (which was quickly accomodated by pusing tables together) and proceeded to have a wonderful gourmet dinner.
The menu was varied, imaginative, and had something for everyone. The wine selection was extraordinary and our host, Gary was spot-on in his wine pairing recommendations. We were delighted with the prosciutto & fig appetizer. I had a very tasty Gratin of Scallops, my husband ordered a shrimp-based medley, others ordered filets and chops, all presented beautifully.
With very little room left for dessert, we ordered a few to split with our coffee and were not disappointed. We plan to visit this little jewell of an establishment every time we are near Placerville in the future!
