“Delightful find in a historic town”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 9, 2012

Looking for a nice place for a brithday dinner, we wandered back into "Creekside Place" a shaded group of shops on historic Weber Creek--the top of the gold vein that brought about the 1849 Gold Rush in California. Overlooking the creek, we found Cafe Luna. We had a large group (which was quickly accomodated by pusing tables together) and proceeded to have a wonderful gourmet dinner.

The menu was varied, imaginative, and had something for everyone. The wine selection was extraordinary and our host, Gary was spot-on in his wine pairing recommendations. We were delighted with the prosciutto & fig appetizer. I had a very tasty Gratin of Scallops, my husband ordered a shrimp-based medley, others ordered filets and chops, all presented beautifully.

With very little room left for dessert, we ordered a few to split with our coffee and were not disappointed. We plan to visit this little jewell of an establishment every time we are near Placerville in the future!

“Wonderful food!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 19, 2012

My husband took me here for dinner on my birthday and we had a memorable meal. The server was very friendly and helpful re: the choice of food and wine. We shared the butternut squash soup which was very tasty, We also each had a salad with blue cheese crumbles which enhanced the salad. I chose the Basa which is a type of fish and it was delicious. My husband had the filet which he said was very good. For dessert he had the butterscotch pudding and I had the coconut flan which was heavenly. The ambience was very nice also and we will definitely return!

“Best Places - Placerville”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 28, 2012

Great food and good service count for a lot in my book. Our server was very attentive, while not being annoying, and had a great sense of humor. The food is consistently high quality and the wine list is excellent!

The little things about the place keep friends, family and myself coming back every time we are in Placerville. Sometimes we create fictitious trips to Placerville in order to dine at Cafe Luna. Service is always good and the food never fails to satisfy everyones appetite. Overall, the dining experience is great and I know we'll be back!
