“great!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 25, 2012

I wish I could have stayed longer than just 1 night. We had a king room with a patio out onto the ocean viewing cliff. Fireplace was a nice touch and hot tub was great. Ate nearby at Vandana grill (which has impeccable service). Breakfast here was filling and free. Wifi worked well and who doesn't love swan towels?!

My only complaint is that the room wasn't ready by checkin in at 4pm... and maid service knocked on the door way before checkout time. It seemed like a lot of money for not a lot of time at the hotel.

My complaints are that they have a very limited breakfast.. Only protein is cottage cheese, yogurt, and hard boiled eggs.

Second complaint is that they choose afternoon weekends to perform routine cleaning all around you. In example, they were washing the windows around the hit tub and pool while guests are using it. Why can't this be done when they close the pool for the night?

Other than that, it's nice. Nice walk to the pier.

The Cottage Inn offers an upgraded continental breakfast, featuring the items you mentioned. We are always looking for new items to add to our breakfast offerings within the scope of what our health department permits allow. We are already in the process of adding more protein and soy items in the coming months. We appreciate your feedback regarding the cleaning of the pool area and will work with our staff to change this procedure.

Stayed for only 1 night, but wished we could have stayed longer. Superb Hotel in a fabulous location. We had a "Sea View" room, overlooking beautiful gardens, and over the Cliffs out to sea. We left the windows open all night to listen to the waves rolling in onto the beach below.
The room was large, spotlessly clean, and had a lovely Fire should it be needed on "cooler" evenings. Lovely Continental breakfast, which we didn't realise was included !
Would not hesitate to stay here again.

Great hotel, spacious rooms, nice easy walk to pier and central "drag" at Pismo. Lovely gardens to sit and watch the surf and sunsets, plenty of towels, clean rooms and showers, good internet connection, lovely clean pool and spa. Beach below hotel just perfect....wonderful part of the California coast.
As for the breakfast!!! What can I say! Outstanding selection and service staff-- delightful! Waffles/toast/bagels muffins/cereals/yoghurt/juices/tea/coffee/hot chocolate/fruit ....all in the cost of the nightly rate, which for the location, is extremely reasonable. I was greatly impressed, and determined to re-visit as it was just a splendid. Wonderful place. A highlight of my touring. Thankyou!

I stayed here for 2 nights and was fortunate enough to have a sea view room which was lovely! The rooms themselves were very quaint and tidy and the beds were lovely and comfortable. The view out from the front of the hotel down the beach is lovely and there are some chairs to sit and relax on. The breakfast was provided and it was very nice- simple continental breakfast which was tasty as well as waffles which you made yourself. I used the computer which is located in the dining room to check emails and such which was very useful. To get to the main town, you could either walk (about 15 minutes) or drive which means you need to find a rare parking space! I didn't really like the town itself so I'm glad the hotel was away from it all. I would definitley recommend this hotel to people as I really enjoyed my stay.

Room Tip: Sea view rooms are worth it!

We arrived late and were greated by home made cookies at the front desk. They had a plaque with happy birthday to me :) When we arrived in our room it was so comfortable, from the swan towel animals on the bed to the fire place that we turned on. The next day we went down the stairs to the beautiful beach and cove.
