I was told this was the best place to stay while in Pismo. My boyfriend planned this super getaway for my 30th birthday. We were let down the first night, because we could not figure out why the jacuzzi and fireplace were not working. We checked their binder, hoping it was filled with directions to the amenities. However, it was filled with useless information, and it sadly told a historic story of Pismo and what the true name meant, "A blob of black tar, rolled up on the beach".
We later found out they had a unique way of getting these amenities to work. You just have to ask a competent person, and that seemed hard to find. The front desk/reception was just a sea of young girls with blank looks on their faces. They screwed up our accommodations, (overlooked our package, and what we were truly supposed to get).
Their four star restaurant was a joke. There was no service, just servers who ignored you as they stared right into your eyes. The food was delicious, so props to the chef, but you're lucky if it made it to your table without getting cold.
The best thing that happened was Diane the massage therapist, it's too bad she is working for a dump like the Sea Venture. This place SUCKED!!!!! And I will NEVER go back. I DON'T recommend this place to ANYONE!!!! Especially for the amount of money they are asking you to cough up! Hope this helped :)

On behalf of the Staff and Management at the SeaVenture we are terribly sorry to hear your stay with us to celebrate your 30th Birthday was anything less than perfect.
We can assure you that we strive to meet the highest standards in customer service and to maintain a resort that provides the most enjoyable stay for our guests. Unfortunately we may have missed our goal on this occasion; we thank you for informing us so that we may correct this for the future.
Your comments regarding instructions for the spa and fireplace have been shared with our Guest Services team. We certainly should have explained how to operate these amenities upon check-in, and apologize that we failed to do so.
