“Thank you”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 15, 2013

Our stay was great, friendly staff and very nice accommodations, will absolutely return. There was an issue with the pet area, the gate to the fenced area was sitting in mud, it was difficult to walk through, especially for disabled.

Thank you for staying with us! We appreciate that you took the time to post a review. With regards to the gate to the fenced area for pets, we had experienced heavy rains during this time period and we didn't attend to it as quickly as we should have. We have since added sand and adjusted it so that it is functioning properly again. Thanks for commenting and we look forward to serving your lodging needs in the future!

“Great Value & Clean Facility”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 9, 2013

Terrific check in staff offering great recommendations for dinner. The hotel room was perfect--plenty of linens for the sofa bed and nice to have the separate rooms for us and our daughter. Nice to also have the benefit of free drinks/snacks at night, as well as the hot breakfast each morning. The pool and hottub were clean, and the hotel well located and quiet. We would definitely stay here again if were in the Pismo Beach area!

“Still Very Good”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 6, 2013

This was our 2nd time staying at this hotel in 5 years. Check in staff was professional and extremely helpful even though there was a misunderstanding with the booking agent. We were given a ground floor room. Very very quiet indeed. Really loved the sliding door and a real suite indeed. We loved the sofa arrangement with the recessed lights. Our one night stay was utterly comfortable, almost wished we could stay longer. Now the evening reception was until 9:30pm !!!! You could have a drink before dinner and then come back for another!!! How awesome that is...Breakfast was wonderful with scrambled eggs, sausage, pancakes, oatmeal, applesauce, breads, coffee/tea/juices/hot chocolate, fruits....just wonderful!!! The breakfast room was next to the pool, great view. Also the hotel ground was well kept with quiet buildings around. Overall we were very happy and felt fully rested from our trip going from SoCal to NorCal. Please keep up the good work. We will definitely stay here again!!!! And one more thing, for outlet shoppers like myself, the Premium Outlets is just next door to Denny's!!!!!

Room Tip: request rooms around the back buildings facing the quiet court yards if you prefer privacy. Note thi...

“Great Value!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 6, 2013

The pool is warmer than most. The staff was very friendly. The hot breakfast in the morning was very good. The evening reception- we got 2 tickets each- for beer, wine or soda in the bar area and they had very light snacks too. There was soup and a light salad bar. The room was a suite- the sofa bed was not very comfortable- but we brought our own futon and all was good! But to be able to close off the living room to the bedroom was great. There is a limited room service with burgers, sandwiches, nachos. The highest item on the menu was 11.95 for the seafood combo. If we ever head north off the 101 we will stay there again.

“Great for families”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 4, 2013 via mobile

Traveling with 2 year old twins is never fun, and most hotels that claim to have suites are really just regular rooms with an extra sink. In those hotels, the evening is spent huddling under the covers eith the ipad until the kids fall asleep. So we were excited to see that Oxford seemed to have all rooms with a sliding pocket door separating the little ones from us at night!

I have learned whenever I reserve a room with two cribs to call back and confirm that they really have 2 cribs on the room. A some hotels, reserving a crib really means nothing, and I've gotten to hotels only to find they were all out! So I was pleasantly surprised when I called again an hour before we arrived to ask that they put the cribs IN the room and set them up (another lesson learned) when I was told that the cribs were already set up. Nice service!

The cribs were regular pack n plays. The crib sheets were a little small and too elasticcy, so it sort of crumpled up the pack play mattress, so we ended up without the sheet on one crib, which was ok. It might be a good idea to bring your own pack play sheet if that's important to you. The other pack n play had the Velcro that go under the deck, so we were able to stretch that one back flat.

The kids room did not have black out curtains, just Venetian blinds ... But I stacked up couch pillows to keep the room a little darker in the AM and that worked fine. Our bedroom had a comfortable king sized bed, and blackout curtains, and also had the bathroom attached. Everything seemed reasonably clean and newish.

The hot breakfast was great, and they had ample highchairs. Although we can't exactly leave our kids alone in the room at night to go to the lounge, they do let you take your drinks to go ... So we enjoyed a glass of wine in our private room, and watched television while the kids slept.

We were also shocked it was only 89 for a weekday night with AAA, must have been the off season? We might come back to pismo beach just for the hotel!
