Spent the 4th and 5th of July in a cottage at this motel (I believe it was built in the 1940's). With two bedrooms (king bed in each), a hallway sink, full bathroom, living room with full view of the ocean and full kitchen, my family was able to cook all of our meals and having a relaxing getaway from the Central CA heat. The property has its own private stairs to the beach, which meant that we were able to sit along the path to watch the fireworks from the Pismo Pier. Many (friendly) guests were bbq-ing along the ample lawns on the afternoon of the 4th.
This is one of those places that you go to not expecting 5 star service, and not expecting everything about your lodging to be perfect, but knowing that you'll get a good deal in a beach town that is getting increasingly overpriced. Easily within walking distance of the Pismo shopping area and the morning paper and mini marts, but not on top of all the hubbub.
I will definitely be back with friends for a long, relaxing weekend in the future.
