Overall I was not impressed with this hotel. Upon arrival they had a young man who seemed very nice but was not very knowledgable or professional at his job. He seemed as if he was still new to the job and thrown out to feen for himself. i had to ask him how to get to my room once he gave me my room number and all I got was "your on the second floor and right now you are on the forth floor drive to the back by the pool" wasn't told which side of the hotel I was on or where the nearest entrance was at. When I checked out same issue and I even left a day early just so I wouldn't have to give this hotel anymore of my companies money. Instead I chose drive home in the dark after a long day of work. The girl who checked me out didn't smile nor didn't ask how my stay was, no personality at all! The carpet of the room at the entrance and byt the bathroom sink was stained and dingy looking. Also may I say you have those sleep number beds but no instructions inside of the rooms on how to use then intstead you have to play a guessing game of hide and seek in order to look for the control than figure out how to use it!

Hello Ms. Arellano, Thank you for sharing your experience with us. You are right we did have a major power outage here on the Central Coast which affected some of our technology. We lost our phone system programing for a day and tried to do our best under the circumstances to operate. I appologize that you had to experience the aftermath of this outage. Thank you for the nice comments you made regarding the other parts of your stay. I want to let you know that we appreciate your business and hope that you will give us another opportunity to provide you with an excellent lodging and dining experience. Please contact me directly as I would be glad to help you with your reservation.

Stayed here for a few days during the CA heatwave and the Beach temps were perfect. Normally, it can be foggy this time of year but our timing was good. We've visited the area many times before but this was our first time at HGI. Being Honors members, it was our first choice given the location and amenities. Check-in was great, our room had a small patio facing the pool. Our girls enjoyed the pool each day after the beach. We had some small issues with noise in the room (refrigerator and bathroom pipes) but never heard any outside noise which was surprising right next to the freeway. We also never heard any guest noise from neighboring rooms. We reported 2 safety/maintenance issues but did not hear from management about it. Upon checkout, I let the front desk manager know to correct some of the internal noise issues for the next guests and also made sure the safety problem was acknowledged. We would probably stay here the next time we are in town. All employees were friendly. Most notably, Ian took great pride in his work, had great knowledge of the property and wonderful customer service. Christian was helpful with directions in the area. For meals, we did not have a good experience at Steamers - overrated and overpriced with bad service. Brads was a great spot for lunch on their patio. We made a return visit for dinner at Buona Tavola in SLO and had another great experience. Their housemade pastas are the best.

We arrived 10 minutes before the restaurant closed which is part of the hotel and the woman who was working it went out of her way to keep it open for us and make sure we were taken care of. The manager personally brought us a crib and blankets for our baby. They made you feel like they valued our business. A very cute town as well. Would defintely stay here again.

Stayed at this hotel for 2 days in May. Front desk staff very friendly. We had the garden view room which was on the first floor. this was great for us because we had two children which were able to play in front of the room. The beds were comfortable and the room was large enough for two adults and two children with a lot of baggage. even though this hotel is near next to the freeway, I did not have any problems with any noise...overall experience was great...at our check out the front desk person was very friendly and personable...would definitely stay here next time I am Pismo. Did not eat breakfast here, but there are some options near by...such as Denny's on the other side of the freeway and a small hole in the wall true Mexican restaurant in downtown Oceanside which food was delicious.

Room Tip: garden option is great for travelers with kids.

Hotel staff helped us celebrate my sister's birthday by putting together a happy birthday welcoming gift and had it waiting for them in their room. Rooms were good size, beds extremely comfortable, no noise, cool pool, friendly staff, friendly check-in, no complaints at all - only compliments

We had a room the 2 Queen 1 King family room, which was good value at just under $200. Check in was pretty disappointing, basically just asked for the credit card and gave us our free water bottles. As Diamond Hilton Members I expected to at least be told about the facilities and welcomed but anyhow. We had a ground floor room which was clean, and adequate. Having two bathrooms was a plus however the sink space is very limited and the second bathroom does not have a shower.
The hotel is a few minutes drive from anywhere to eat, so expect that going in. Too cold to try the pool but it looked nice. Beds were comfortable, no complaints from anyone.
And now for the problem. We had free breakfast included with our Diamond membership, so on the last morning we decide to go down during the time allocated for breakfast. We arrive to find them packing up the breakfast and the two teenagers running the place tell us that breakfast finished and that the times shown on the in room booklets are wrong.
Basically we were told bad luck.
As experienced travellers we asked for the manager who then instructed the staff that we could order what we wanted and the kitchen would prepare it. So we had the breakfast, ,which was average to be honest, but sometimes you just hope to get something out of being Diamond status which takes an enormous number of stays to reach.
Overall, we would stay here again if the price is right but there are many options in Pismo which you may want to try. Nothing particularly outstanding about this place and nothing bad, so it deserves the 3 stars. Parking is free, internet was included as well. Staff could be a friendlier, pretty average.
