Dear Roman B,
Thank you for your recent review on Trip Advisor. We are pleased to hear how much you enjoyed the spaciousness of our suites and our location to Hearst Castle. I am sorry room service is not available 24 hours but am glad it did not effect your visit. Thank you again and we look forward to welcoming you and your guest back to the resort next time you visit the Central Coast of California.
Warm Regards,
The Dolphin Bay Team

We are spending our second (and last) night at this delightful gem. The service, from our initial greeting from our valet, Josh, to our excellent server Ashley at dinner last night at the Lido Restaurant, has been impeccable. Obviously, the management team is doing a great job at training all of the staff on the front line. Having said this, you can't teach attitude and genuine friendliness and everyone that we've met have gone out of their way to make us feel at home. That's special.

We are staying in an oceanfront suite on the third floor. It has a full, modern kitchen opening into a living area with a gas fireplace and a separate, bedroom with two walk in closets and a large full bathroom with shower and tub. There is a balcony that overlooks Pismo Beach and Avila Beach and the Olde Port Pier. It is spectacular on a clear day, which we had yesterday -- particularly the awesome sunset.

The fog rolled in today and we can't see very far, but the room is cozy and the fireplace much appreciated. There is a small, well configured exercise room with treadmills, ellipticals, free weights, workout mats, fitness balls and a Bosu ball. Very adequate to work off the great meals.

I understand why other Trip Advisor reviewers have been smitten with this resort. Its reputation is well deserved.

First off I would like to thank the staff for their great guest service!! Just arrived home from my my nieces wedding last weekend. From the moment we arrived till the second we left we were treated with the best service I've ever had anywhere. From the front desk to the valet attendant to the housecleaning. Very friendly and did their best to cater to us. The room was just perfect. No way this place is a hotel, this is paradise. Didn't want to leave. Will definitely be saving my penny's to stay there again. The wedding setting was beautiful anyone considering having their wedding there, it'll be worth every cent. Can't wait till I return to relax at the Dolphin Bay!!!!

My sisters and I have stayed here for a long weekend every August for the past four years. We get a two bedroom/two bath oceanfront condo. We can't say enough about how much we like this place (obviously, or we would not keep coming back): Beautifully appointed rooms, comfortable beds with great linens, so nice to have a full kitchen. The oceanview Lido restaurant is a nice option for breakfast, lunch or dinner; lovely bar, too. And anything you get to eat or drink from DiPalo's deli/grocery a half-block away is truly first rate.

Room Tip: Oceanfront condo rooms are more expensive, but have spectacular views; recommend these rooms on the...

We just finished a great stay at the Dolphin Bay Resort in Pismo Beach. This is a wonderful place to relax and get rid of all the cobwebs. The accommodations we luxurious. The huge suite had everything we could possibly need for a great stay. The full kitchen was helpful to have even though we ate out during most of our stay. The ocean is right outside the room, and you can access the beach about 100 yards down the path. This resort is very family friendly and would be a great place to get away with everyone. I highly recommend this resort for your next trip to the central coast!

Picture the scene if you will:

"A couple sitting on the balcony of their luxurious apartment, glasses of chilled wine in hand. In the background the kids are having a great time watching a movie and eating popcorn. Everyone looks impossibly happy and relaxed.

The view pans to reveal the sun setting over a stunning ocean vista framed by palm trees lining the cliff-tops and waving gently in the breeze. In the distance a school of dolphins can be seen cutting through the waves in the fading light.

One by one the stars come out, until the heavens are ablaze with sparkling jewels; a perfect end to another perfect day in paradise."

You sigh inwardly, "Marketing hype! That sort of thing never happens in real life!"

Well usually you'd be right, but just this once we walked right in to the scene from the commercial and the dream became reality.

Dolphin Bay was the highlight of our two week trip to the West Coast, and probably the best two days I have spent in any resort, anywhere, ever (and I have stayed in a fair few high-end resorts).

I won't reiterate the many positive points that have been made over and over in so many other reviews, but the ocean-front suite was great, the pool was great, the staff were great, the food and at the Lido restaurant were great and the setting was magnificent.

The price may be high, but for what you actually get it is a bargain. I only wish we had been able to spend more time there, and I hope we can go back some day.

Room Tip: Pay the extra for an ocean-front suite with a balcony!
