“It's gotten better.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 31, 2013

We go to Pismo Beach quite often but haven't been back to Brad's in at least a couple years because we were disappointed the last time we went there. We gave them another try this morning and their food has improved. We both had something from the senior offerings and they give you enough food so you can take some home if you want to. Our server was so friendly. It's always crowded but we didn't have to wait at all this morning when we got there.

“No wait for a reason.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 25, 2013

Traveled to the Pismo Beach Pier for an afternoon with our toddler. We decided the line at Splash Cafe was too long and headed across the street to Brad's who sat us immediately. The atmosphere was beach casual. It was an old fashioned type seafood diner that hadn't been updated in some time, but I'm not sure it really needs to be. It is decorated appropriately for the food, value and service. There were lots of families with kids dining and the hostess seemed to also be the manager. She was very friendly and noticed my son liked the saltwater fish tank, allowing us to sit by it. Her polite and friendly demeanor was followed by the not so great service of our waitress. She seemed to be annoyed with another couple of guests she was tending to seated near us. We explained we were from out of town and 1st time guests. Instead of the typical welcoming response, we got, "So you need more time then." We responded yes but let her take our drink orders and put in an order for our son. We observed her handling several other tables and realized she was extremely busy, but as a serving professional, she could have been more courteous regardless. The food arrived fast and fresh. We split the large platter of fried seafood, paired with a cup of clam chowder and a dinner salad. Overall the food was very good and at a reasonable value. Bagged dinner salad and the clam chowder was excellent. The seafood was delicious. The worst part of our meal was our observation of our server's abilities to handle guests with complaints about their food, which then carried over into bad service to other guests. I actually observed her roll her eyes at a customer who didn't like the taste of her seafood salad. It wasn't the worst service I've ever witnessed, but it made me uncomfortable to ask her for anything. Even an extra napkin for my son. Overall, I think this business survives on the impatience of people not willing to stand in line at the well known business across the street.

“Very Good Food, without the Wait of Splash Cafe”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 24, 2013

Clam chowder in a bread bowl was very good. We also got fish tacos and a fried fish sampler. All was very good and definitely close enough to amazing to be worth skipping the around the block line for Splash cafe. Plentiful outdoor seating and good service.

“Great service, yummy food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 23, 2013

We had the calamari and prawn appetizers. They were hot and on our table in 3 minutes. Excellent quality. The clam chowder was just ok. We had various meals from salads on, and all of our food was very very good. We sat outside on the patio and that was really nice. One suggestion to the owners, since the line wrapped around outside always seems to be so long, could you change the planters to benches? That would help alot!
