We were about to forego the 45-minute wait for a table until a German lady told us that she had eaten there, and the food was well worth the wait. She was right. We had two excellent salads to start, one the Michelli and the other with a poached pear, gorgonzola and walnuts. Then, we had the pasta arrabiata with shrimp -- nine large, properly cooked, with spicey ragu in the true arrabiata tradition. We also had a homemade pasta amatriciana, with pancetta, onions, and what not in a spicey ragu. We ended the meal with Giusepe's signature Marscapone ricotta cheesecake in an almond pistachio crust. All in all, the restaurant was as good as some of the top-rated L.A. Italian restaurants we've frequented. Expect to spend about $25 - $35 per person, before wine and drinks. Two thumbs up, way up!
