“Beach Front Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 26, 2013

We stayed at the Kon Tiki Inn for 3 nights for our anniversary and wish we could have stayed longer! We stayed on the 3rd floor (only 4 rooms are on the 4th floor). Room was quiet. Our room had a king and a queen bed. Table and 2 chairs inside. Small table and 2 chairs out on balcony. All rooms have views of the ocean, pool, and 2 Jacuzzis. Lawn area. About 3 flights of stairs down to the beach. Huge beach area where you can find shells, sand dollars and cool small rocks. At the north end of the beach there are rock caves to explore and a significant rock mound with clusters of mussel shells, crabs and anemone. Easy walk to downtown Pismo and the wharf, either by beach or road. Rooms are very clean, have plenty of storage for clothes, 2 sinks, and a small refrigerator. Apparently the 4 rooms on the 4th floor have a fireplace and a microwave - and only a king bed with a sofa bed. No pets allowed at the hotel (bummer). Continental breakfast was pretty good - cereals, fruit, pastries, bagels, yogurt, hard boiled eggs, as well as good tasting waffles you make yourself, juice, coffee. There was a staff person in there to help out and keep food replenished. She was very helpful and cheery! Can't wait to go back. The young man who greeted us when we checked in was very kind and helpful. The lady who checked us out, not so much (never said thank you for staying with us, nothing). But that won't stop us from returning. Sunsets were beautiful by the way!

Room Tip: We were on the 3rd floor, midway in the building, underneath one of the 4th floor rooms. Very quiet.

This Bed and Breakfast Hotel , located right on the ocean front has good clean room, every room having a beautiful view of the Pacific Ocean. We were there first week April this year, was pretty cold and windy. The heated pool has a glass wind breaker, we did not venture into the pool. There were quite a few children and a few adults in the pool. There is an extra sink outside the bath room which I felt was a good idea.
The buffet breakfast was quite good.
Spending a week end is a great idea.
I liked the place.

Room Tip: All rooms face the ocean. The ground floor rooms would be ideal for elderly people

Perfect view, comfortable room, loved the decor, good bed. I'd have liked to stay another day. You feel removed from the noise and crowds of Pismo Beach even though you are very close to the town. You get a free membership at an athletic club that is very well equipped.

We visited this hotel again after an initial visit as part of a previous holiday in 2008. We were impressed then and, if anything, it was better this time. Then hotel has fantastic view, has a lovely design and is clearly which run with great care and attention. Highly recommended.

This Hotel is ALWAYS GREAT!! The staff is friendly and always willing to help. You get access to the Health and fitness club your whole stay which includes basketball, tennis, racket ball, weights, workout classes, and all kinds of fitness machines. A complimentary continental breakfast. The view is stunning and the type of families that go there are good people. You can be certain to find other good kids for your kids to play with and nice adults that you can converse with. Last but not least your right in the middle of town so everything is so easy to get too. If you go take the short trip to Nipomo to Jocko's for dinner you won't be disappointed. Make sure you go hungry because they give A Lot of food for a reasonable price. A good idea to make reservations though.

Room Tip: If you want the easiest access to the pool and beach stay on the bottom floor you can just walk righ...

Can't fault the hotel, just as described in previous reviews. Our only criticisms would relate to the wider area. Down town Pismo is a bit tacky - plenty of cheap souvenir shops and fast food but not special.

This place is just brilliant. Every room has the beautiful ocean view.
The rooms were large and clean with Hawian decor & comfortable beds. There is a nice pool area with 2 spa pools.
The staff were all extremely helpful and friendly.
Having a second sink next to the fridge and coffee maker turned out to be a useful layout.
Pismo Beach is a nice little place too. It's got plenty of places to eat without feeling too built up.
Two things speak volumes for this place; we spoke to loads of other guests who were repeat visitors (and can see why), also as far as we could see you can't book online and it's not on any hotel booking sites (might have changed since we booked) yet it seemed full.
