“Good Food -- Slow Service”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 30, 2014

The food at Alley Cafe is great, but they usually only have one server on duty so the wait time can be very long. If you don't mind waiting, it's a good breakfast place.

“A little corner of Americana”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 2, 2013

First of all, the Alley Cafe now accepts credit cards. Next, it is an old-fashioned counter-and-booth joint where you can watch the cook make everything from scratch. Third, it is hidden behind a smallish door in a building right next to the Pinole City Hall; there is a planter of flowers in the front. Fourth, my two breakfasts were quite good—biscuits and gravy, with two sausages the first day and a big bowl of oatmeal with raisins and brown sugar the second day. Fifth, if you have to wait for your breakfast (not too long in my case), there is usually a newspaper or two in the corner you can grab to pass the time. Sixth, you should be prepared to hear the regulars at the counter talk about their latest trips overseas (Pinole is not exactly a low-rent town).

“Classic America's breakfast on a classic America's perfect place!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 7, 2013

We staid at Pinole cause we planned visit SF however we found this place to breakfast near from the hotel and it was so great! The perfect balance between flavor and price including an America traditional place. Regards from Mexico!

“Quantity not Quality”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 5, 2012

its more quantity than quality. I have seen them take an order from someone that just walked in (a regular in the rest) before taking an order of someone that had been waiting. Food is just so so and they give you way too much.

“Big Big Breakfast”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 16, 2012

The food is great here. I love the hash browns. You get a big plate and half the plate is full of hash browns the other half your omelet or whatever else you ordered. The service is pretty slow but I like the food enough to wait. You will not leave this place hungry unless you want to.
