It was my birthday weekend and we went to Central Market for dinner. From the minute we walked in, the service was warm, welcoming and the atmosphere just cosy. I had the rainbow trout which was just right, the ground almonds and greens were well flavoured, not bland and the trout alone was crispy and the flavouring subtle. My husband was in the mood for a pizza and I have to say, the simplicity of the pizza really brought out the flavour again. After having pizza in Italy, I have to admit, I look at it very differently now, for everything is simple and delicious there, I was so happy to taste the pizza at Central Market and just enjoy it without that overdone crust. I love the farm to table concept and the fresh food made with seasonal, simple ingredients is all that is needed for food to taste amazing. The chef, Tony came around to ask us how everything was and he walked around, always present and involved. Loved it. The piece de resistance was the butterscotch creme pot with espresso macarones on the side. So yummy, like salted caramel, melt in your mouth soft and surprisingly sweet at the same time. Will definitely go again, they are also surprisingly child friendly.
