“What a hidden treasure! Magnifique!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 19, 2014

My boyfriend and I spontaneously headed up to Petaluma for two days to check out the town and visit the Lagunitas brewery. Luckily, we stumbled upon the Metro Hotel!

Everything about this French-themed hotel is lovely; the attention to detail in the decor is truly memorable. As soon as you walk into the hotel, you feel as though you are in French cafe; ads for Orangina, a metro map, and foosball table.... there is detail in every piece of decor, and it brought me back to my year abroad living in France!

The rooms are clean, the beds are comfortable, and the price was fair. The hotel owner was also very pleasant. We both enjoyed our stay very much, and recommend this to anyone who is looking for something a little different; NOT a cookie-cutter hotel!

We strolled into Petaluma CA after a long day of flying in from Florida. We drove from Sacramento and were so tired! Metro's kind staff and owner kindly welcomed us in and showed us around the place. We were given a tour of the room before our purchase and we were sooooo pleased!! The beds are comfy, the bathtubs are adorable, the french style atmosphere brings youu right to the front door of Paris. This modern and welcoming environment is EXACTLY what we wanted. I would highly recommend this place!! We loved it :) Thank you Metro Hotel for such a wonderful time as a just married couple!

This hotel is perfect for those that want a different type of hotel experience. There is definite charm. The lobby and cafe area reminded me of an antique shop. The place used to be an old mansion that got divided up into rooms. The rooms are clean, decorated with unique items such as a plastic duck side table lamp. The bed was very comfortable and the comforter was hearty and warm. I appreciated the electric wood stove that brought welcomed heat in the cool evenings. The bathroom shower was my biggest challenge because maintaining the temperature proved tricky. I loved the coffee station and pastries in the mornings. The staff was friendly and the setting adorable. The gardens well maintained with lovely scents.

We spent 2 nights and loved it! The room was very clean and very spacious. It is close to so many great restaurants and we had a fabulous time at the free wine tasting that came with the room! We would definitely stay at the Metro Hotel again! Thanks for a wonderful time!

I have stayed here twice. The beds are comfortable and the accommodations are quaint with a nice French accent. Staying here better than the larger hotel chains. I liked the comfort of the bed so much, the owner helped me procure a similar mattress. Great service!

This hidden gem is gives you a quaint european feel the moment you walk in the door. I stayed here frequently when I was in the process of moving and was always very pleased with the unique decor in the rooms, like clawfoot shower/tubs and a round bed that only add to the charm. There's a cozy cafe with great coffee and pastries and the general areas are fabulous for relaxing and reading a book. The owners are friendly and make you feel at home. Be aware that there is no elevator and you'll have to shlep your luggage up one flight if your room is on the 2nd floor.

I love this place - stayed here twice. Once with the mom and this last time with a group of girlfriends. Why would anyone go to Petaluma??? Yeah I know that's the question you are asking yourself. We went for two of Sonoma's fun wine event weekends.

The Metro is the cutest little french inspired hotel. Every nook, corner, and cranny was decorated with adorable shabby chic details. The crazy steep spiral staircase leads you to your rooms. We stayed in a two room suite - one queen bed with two twins in the living room, a daybed with pull-out trundle. Both beds were amazingly comfy. Claw foot tub with rainfall shower head in the bathroom, (water pressure could have been a bit stronger).

The guy who checked us in wasn't the most friendly or excited, but we only had to spend a nano-second with him and didn't need any assistance during our stay so it was fine.

Love this place, of course we will stay again!

Room Tip: Two room suites are quite comfy and have larger bathrooms!
