“Volpi's Ristorante”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 7, 2013

A very fun and very good place to eat. This place has consistently been in business since the 1800's. It's not a quiet place but excellent food and drink. Lots of history here.

“Great old fashioned Italian food - fantastic service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2013

While traveling through Sonoma County, CA - we met up with friends at Volpi's and had a great time. The atmosphere is classic Italian family style, the food was delicious, the servers were friendly and helpful, the bar drinks were great, all four couples had a wonderful time. I highly recommend this restaurant - you can't go wrong!

“Good Italian Food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 25, 2013

This restaurant is very good! My mother and I went here for a late night dinner and boy was is it delicious! It is very dark inside but it is a perfect little dinner spot for family and friends. The food is FABULOUS and the building it is in is very old and cool! The menu was quite large and had a lot to choose from as well as great portions. The restaurant is walking distance from downtown but if you don’t like walking, then I would suggest driving. Great place, great food, highly recommended!

“Pure, 100% historic charm with great food and a stellar bar”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 23, 2013

Volpi's is a Petaluma institution that has not wavered in its culinary offerings over the course of my life time. We simply come here when we're in area and want to have a gathering with friends that catches the feeling of old Petaluma history in a truly authentic way. Think "the Washoe House" but with appetizing fare and an accordion player who isn't just some young hipster wearing his grandfather's jacket. This is the real deal and the restaurant exudes this feeling. It's truly embodies that California, old-world rugged Italian élan so hard to find anymore.

Also, the food is consistently good. I'm a fan of their eggplant parmasagne and generally always order it although they have a great chicken marsala as well. Their wine list is spotless. Fine prices. And their bar is fantastic if you're just looking for someplace quirky but not too quirky to order drinks over a date; it's fun without being seedy or awkward. Their bar is always busy and always filled with laughter, sometimes standing room only, a sense of liveliness in the air. It's quite perfect and worth a visit.

“Great Food For A Great Price”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 27, 2013

This is my 1st time trying Volpi's for lunch and I was not dissapointed. We had a party of 6 and it was busy with only one waitress . She did an amazing job. We had the fried calamari appitizer which was cooked perfectly -could have used a little more seasoning but overall very happy the portion size was enough for all to share. My dad ordered the tripe and pollenta because he never gets it anymore he totally gave it the thumbs up and cleaned his plate. Mom had the calamari steak and it was supper thick and we all agreed it was good and cooked perfectly. My husband hd the burger didn't pay attention to him he said it was good. My sister had the panchetta pasta -again very good. My mom-in-law had the pesto pasta w/h clams she had to take hers home for dinner very yummy great pesto flavor. I had the veal marsella gravy was so good the veal was cooked perfect I could cut it with a fork and the polenta is to die for. We also ordered the craft of house red wine and I don't know what the name of it was but it was also very good. Our Waitress was very friendly and excellent at her job. We left with full belly's and left overs.
