“Cute rural cottage”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 26, 2012

We stayed in the Cozy Cabin.

Pros: peaceful, rural, picturesque setting, beautiful garden with friendly cats. Nicely decorated cabin with rocking chair and comfortable bed, clean, beautiful bathroom, lovely light with windows on all sides, little terrace to sit out in the sun on, friendly owners.

Cons: No privacy! The bathroom has a wooden partition wall which doesn't go up to the ceiling, so prepare to hear your partner using the toilet! Very cold - we went in August, and were cold even with the heater on. The kitchen facilities are basic, and the advertised 'hearty breakfast of organic coffee, eggs and toast, fresh fruit and juice' turned out to be two English muffins and some eggs in the fridge, some packets of butter, some individual pots of uht milk, and the coffee - no fruit or juice, and far from hearty.

We enjoyed our one night's stay here, had a good night's sleep after our flight from the UK, and left refreshed, ready to start our holiday. It was less 'boutique' than I had imaginied, but nice, nevertheless.

Room Tip: Pay in cash for a $5 discount. Bring a torch - the car park and path are dark!

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. We do have lit paths with motion sensors, driveway lights and all cottages have porch lights that guests control. Not sure why you had an issue, but we certainly do apologize and safety is our concern.

“very special place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 13, 2012

My husband and I booked Pescadero Bed and Biscuit after seeing their brochure at Harley Farms Goat cheese on a previous visit to Pescadero. Our plans were to do a 3 day self supported bike tour spending 2 nights in Pescadero. We rode from our home in the Santa Cruz mountains traveling 50 miles on our first day. We stayed in the Redwood cottage and loved the ambiance. It is indeed rustic but that is half the appeal. The Innkeeper Peggy was in Yosemite and her brother Michael was their to attend to our needs. The amount of space was more than adequate. We ate all our meals in the cute kitchenette. Being that we were on bikes we felt it wasn't safe to walk the 2 miles to town. We made some amazing meals and watched the Olympics in the evening. What a restful few days. We hope to return and likely will book the larger cottage to have some more room. Now we just have to convince some of our cycling friends to come with us. What an amazing deal for $135 per night. We hope to meet Peggy on our next trip.

“Blissful, Romantic, & Stunningly Beautiful”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 12, 2012

My wife and I hadn't had more than 1 night away from our kids for 6 years (since they were born!), so I wanted to take her somewhere tranquil and gorgeous. We found the right place at Pescadero Bed & Biscuit.
Peggy was a gracious hostess with superb attention to detail. Our Ocean Cottage was quaint and charming and boasted stunning views onto the gardens and forested hillside in the distance. I felt that the value was great too.
I feel so relaxed after our stay there and I feel deeply connected with my dear love again...thanks Peggy! I will recommend you to all my friends.
Dan

“Near the coast, but not the crowd”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 23, 2012

We love that the town is so quaint and easy going, and so close to the ocean we love. One minute we are in a beautiful dense redwood forest at Butano State Park, and the next we are on Cabrillo Highway and the majestic Pigeon Point Lighthouse. Although we have stayed at different places in Pescadero, Peggy Walker’s Bed & Biscuit is by far the best experience, the cleanest and most comfortable and secluded. It is the perfect place if you want peace and quiet, a kind-hearted host, and a beautiful setting.

Room Tip: The large cottage was perfect for this little old married couple.

“A True Escape”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 9, 2012

I have stayed at the Pescadero Bed and Biscuit three times, and each time was better than the last. I actually craved going there the third time, because I knew how much I would be able to "decompress". I have a stressful job, and this place is so peaceful that going for one night feels like you've been gone a week. The town of Pescadero is tiny and charming (think antiques, adorable churches with steeples, ocean breezes), and the famous "Duarte's Tavern" (dating back to 1894) serving piping hot, fresh artichoke soup from their own field of artichokes. The cottages are truly like small, comfy homes without the usual frilly Victorian fare (a nice change). There are Amish fireplaces, cozy beds, kitchens, rough-hewn, reclaimed wood, TV and movies if you want them. Visualize horses and deer grazing in a green pasture, while you read your book sitting outside in a comfy chair with a cup of coffee, stars sparkling at night, and utter peace and quiet. The cottages are all darling. I have only stayed in the largest cottage because we prefer a larger kitchen. The wonderful owner gives us our own space and provides fresh eggs, coffee and muffins in the fridge, so we can have breakfast on our own time. If you want to truly "breathe" and relax, you should try the Pescadero Bed and Biscuit.
