Obviously, here for golf. They take care of everything you need here. I even had trouble not 'self-serving' things and allowing them to take care of everything. Very friendly, very accommodating staff. They were outstanding.
When I golfed at Pebble, I was amazed after my round (which ended at 2:30 PM) at what a zoo it was there--which includes the grounds of The Lodge at Pebble Beach. For less money you get sooooo much more peace, quiet, and serenity at Spanish Bay, yet are entitled to all the amenities that the guests at the Lodge get.
The hotel has sort of a Shining Hotel look to its interior, but it seemed quite a bit safer. Nothing close to a "Here's Johnny! moment, nor twin girls emerging mysteriously in the hallway.
I took the Garden Suite, just to keep as cheap as possible, and it was very large. Bathroom was two rooms.
Very quiet place. Beds were real comfortable, room very dark. Fireplace was an added touch--my s.o. really enjoyed that.
Accessible to Spanish Bay Golf Course, and they run a shuttle every half hour to Pebble Beach or Spyglass. You have access to anything at Pebble--spa, fitness center, restaurants, etc.
Three restaurants on site: upscale Roys; just-a-shade lower Pepolis (which my golf partners liked), and sports bar-ish Sticks. We did dinner at Sticks and the food was just fine (albeit expensive, like everyplace on this peninsula is), but don't do the breakfast there. $18 for a glorified cereal and bagel meal. Carmel has great dining--don't hesitate to take the ten minute drive to go there.
