I must say this was the most expensive hotel/resort I've ever stayed at but by far, not the nicest. You're paying for bragging rights, image, prestige. Yes, the rooms were very nice and spacious, decently appointed and cozy. The downsides are: noisy, noisy, noisy!, poorly lit vanities outside the bathrooms and no fans for the bathroom or vanity area - made if very stuffy while trying to get ready for your day/evening. Also, the food was good, but far overpriced and very typical - middle america normal. If you want some great food, drive north to SF and take your pick! The golfer in the group did love the courses and wants to come back again but his wife and I don't golf and thought we'd stay in SF and shop... The grounds and buildings are very attractive, the views amazing, the flower arrangements throughout the hotel wonderful. So, if you're in to golf, go, but don't expect it to be any better than any other place you've stayed, just more expensive. Oh, and the bagpiper and outdoor fire pits do add a nice touch to the evening wind down...
