“Great golf”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 10, 2013

Just a wonderful experience. The course is layed out with some holes on the ocean and some inland. Plenty of spectacular views. Deer wandering around. Course was in good shape but the recent drought made things a little crusty. Staff very helpful and friendly. Not sure why they did not allow carts on the fairways? but if you like to walk, this is one of those courses you wont mind although it is hilly. Greens were tough but fair. They had some tough pins that day!

“Wonderful Challenge”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 9, 2013

This is a fabulous golf course -- unfortunately it had been aerated a week before we played (we did get a discount...)

Narrow fairways, undulations, and black tail deer to play with. One bad shot will cost you three more.

Nice views on the ocean holes, but smelly (sea lions?)

Staff were rather indifferent -- almost snotty.

If you like golf, you'll like the challenge -- I was thrilled to sink a birdie but!

“Incredible Golf Venue”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 3, 2013

It was a bit intimidating for this borderline hacker, but an amazing place to play golf. I actually got a few pars and had a birdie attempt. By staying at the Pebble Lodge during January, got a super reduced green fee for Spyglass.

“One of the greats from Trent Jones Sr.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 30, 2013

A unique course in that one third is Ballybunion, the second is classic Monterey and the final is humilation.
It's worth playing twice to truly appreciate that it's not double vision when you realize that the slightest error is multiplied thrice especially around those notorious difficult to read greens.
The course is what it's all about despite the venerated attitude of the Pebble Beach Company staff, but they are I suppose they are a necessary irritation to remind you that your skeletal frame will be rattled at one of golf's zeniths!

“Spyglass Hill Golf was beautiful-and challenging.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 14, 2013

We played the second from back tee and it is all you want. The scores in our group ranged from one under to in the 90's. We enjoyed every hole. By the way, we saw deer on every hole. The course was in great shape.
