Even after reading the reviews, our party of 18 decided to go anyway as we have been to this camping facility many years ago. It has changed and the unfortunate thing is many of the reviews are true.
The bathroom with showers and a couple toilet stalls could have been maintained by bleaching it down and scrubbing it down, the porta potties were only cleaned once during the day (early on) and I remembered that they used to clean it 2-3 times per day. I made sure to bring toilet seat covers, lysol sanitation wipes, deodorizer spray and toilet tissue. The spot we found was not bad, it wasn't by the river but it was pleasant and our neighbors weren't too bad at all, we were all courteous to one another. There were a few neighbors a few campsites away that blasted their music so that the rest of us can clearly hear their music and a huge party were a bit loud into the late night.
There was a rude group of people who were rude to my niece who parked along the river and these parkings are first come first served, they are not reserved; in any event, she wasn't parking there to stay, she was just waiting for some of our younger kids to come down the river and these rude people told her to move her f_ _ _ ing car, didn't ask, they just demanded her over and over and started calling her names but these people were lucky she had a two year old with her or it would have been on and it's a good thing our party was not with her, they would have eaten s_ _t! (A-holes!) I hope they read this, I'm sure they'll know and remember how tough they were to try and intimidate a female with a 2 year old, they must feel so proud of themselves. Well, we still reported them to the office and the gentleman was nice and said he would send the tribal police to talk to them, I think they were already being spoken to as we headed back.
Like some other postings, if you would like to enjoy this campsite, it would be best to come Monday thru Thursday, it would be more enjoyable. If you like to party and get drunk and be loud, than this is truly the place for you.
None of that really bothered me until these rude people thought they could run s_ _t!
Overall, it was nice to be outdoors and enjoy our family time together! I would still come back but probably on a less busy time of the year.
