“An overpriced Motel 6”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed May 24, 2013 via mobile

Small room, inferior soap and shampoo, low grade towels, no cream or sugar for coffee, lousy TV reception, hard foam pillows, a window air conditioner that did little to keep the room comfortable. And the lowest rate is almost $200 with taxes!! This hotel is badly in need of upgrading or a price reduction commensurate with the quality of the accommodations.

Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback about your stay. I would like to apologize for what you experienced during your stay as it appears we failed to attain our goal of exceeding our guest's expectations.

I'm sorry the items you found in your room were not up to standard. I can assure you that I have discussed and reviewed processes with our Housekeeping staff. It is our practice to keep all rooms updated and supplied with our Bath and Body Works amenities. The ruff worn towels, hard pillows and no supply of cream or sugar are completely unacceptable. These are the very basics things. I'm also sorry you found the room size and TV reception a disappoint to you during your stay. Our cable provider did experience an outage that effected our county and this has been resolved. We are currently working on updating the interior of the rooms with a more modern look and feel. Items that have been ordered and are still to come include new furniture, art work and linens. As you can imagine this is a very large project and we are hoping to have it completed by the end of summer. Hopefully, if we are fortunate enough to host you in the future, we can make sure you leave with a more favorable opinion of the Paso Robles Inn.

Thank you for your feedback it is through feedback we can continue to improve.

We loved the garden of the hotel very much. The room we had was small and not very well lit, but comfortable and clean and nicely furnished. The hotel is ideally located along the park in downtown Paso del Robles, walking distance to many restaurants. Staff is somehow a mixed bag. While some of the front desk persons are very helpful and friendly, others are rather minimalist - same thing for the servers. We had dinner and breakfastat at the restaurant. Our server at dinner was just excellent, recommending wines from the area to go with our meal. The meal was very good and nicely presented. We had a coupon for a free appetizer as a guest of the hotel and the server offered fresh fruit for dessert instead of this, which was very much to our liking. The server at breakfast the next mornng was completely the opposite, leaving us there after she brought our plates and not coming back. We had to get her in the kitchen to get a refill of coffee and then had to go looking for someone else to get the check.

This was our second time at the Paso Robles Inn and we wouldn’t stay anywhere else while visiting the area. There may be plusher hotels in town but this historic inn is comfortable, clean and updated. The location is superb – walk to dinner, the movies, around the park or even out to get gelato. The staff is very gracious and the restaurant is good too, both for breakfast and dinner.

This was our first time in Paso Robles and it did not disappoint. The service and room was spacious and the hot tub on the porch was so enjoyable! The dinner at the inn was wonderful. My husband could not have asked for a more tender delicious prime rib and my buttery lettuce salad was fantastic! Kudos to the chef!

The grounds of the hotel are beautiful. They have amazing Koi fish around the property. The chef's organic gardens are in between all of the blooming flowers. Plenty of history to learn about this hotel, and the town's center is directly across the street with plenty of restaurants and shops.

Room Tip: The rooms are smaller than they look in the pictures.

The main attraction for this stay was relaxation and the tub REALLY did the job well. If you close the patio door you can avoid the sulfur smell penetrating your room. The walls are a bit thin so hopefully you don't have the crying kids we had above us. All in all it was a good stay and a GREAT location. We will stay again.
