“Great value in Paso Robles”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 3, 2014

This was my first time at Adelaide Inn and it far exceeded my expectations. Booked AAA rate direct on their website and needed to change dates which they did quickly and smiling...you could hear it in her voice! Rooms have been renovated recently and are comfortable and well appointed with micro, coffee maker and fridge, great reading lights, recliner. The only thing lacking is flat screen tv in my opinion but older version worked fine. I did not use the pool but it looked clean. Welcome cookies and fruit. Morning scones and muffins in the lobby unless you book a room that includes breakfast. If only we could pick it up and move it downtown! But it is a short drive nonetheless. I travel thru Paso often and will definitely book it again.

Room Tip: We booked executive king room. Ask for room toward the back to minimize highway noise.

Any time I stay in Paso Robles, I stay at the Adelaide, and so do other members of my family. There's a nice pool and hot tub (with cool yard art and lots of plants), the rooms are clean and well-furnished, and the people who run the place are nice. A couple years ago they remodeled, and the bathroom areas are just outstanding! A generous wrap-around vanity, a tiny kitchen area (with microwave and fridge/freezer), and attractive bath are really quite noteworthy. But get this: the TV remote is white and sits in a little box that says, "We have added the 'Clean Remote' to each of our rooms. It is designed specifically to be easy to clean and disinfect..." Doesn't that make you feel good about the place? I recommend it.

Room Tip: Suggest top (2nd) floor for more privacy and quiet as cars park outside of rooms.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 31, 2014

My boyfriend and I were just in Paso Robles on a 4 day trip. Our main goals were to visit the wineries and to drive up the coast to Big Sur and other towns in the nearby areas.

We chose the Adelaide Inn and it worked well for us. Why? Even when it is not in the center of Paso Robles, it has a convenient location when you are driving. Downtown with all the good restaurants are within a 10 minute drive. Parking is free.

First impression was just ok. But I reminded myself that I was in a 3 stars hotel and should not expect more. The front desk staff is friendly and helpful. They provide recommendations and volunteer 10% off coupons for some restaurants and wineries.

There is a Starbucks across the street, and a Dennis, too, where they serve good breakfast with a smile. We tried the pizza place next door and pizza was not good at all. We went to downtown for the rest of our dinners. There's good choices there! Robert's Restaurant and Wine Bar was excellent!

Back to the Adelaide Inn... You get your room key, park your car very close to your room, and walk to your room on one of the 2 story buildings there (no elevator, of course). By the way, something I had not seen anywhere else: the floor in front of the rooms is soft (not carpet) to mitigate the noise of people walking. It was not noisy at all during our stay.

Our room was spacious; it had a sofa, a chair, a desk, another couple of tables, and a comfy king size bed with soft pillows. The TV was the old style, not a flat screen, but we were not there to watch TV so it did not matter to us. The room also had a mini fridge, hair dryer, and nice bathroom amenities. Towels were surprisingly soft, and the bathtub/shower was nice. Great water pressure in the shower! The bathroom in general was very clean and welcoming.

Internet was free. Wired internet available in the room, which my bf used and it worked ok. They also had Wi-Fi but at least we had a hard time connecting. We did not tell the front desk because it was not that important to us anyway.

Although it did not make our stay less enjoyable, I must say the room decoration needs a lot of improvement. The room was big but it felt a big crowded because of the many tables and unnecessary pieces of furniture they had. Also there were 7 lamps, too many in my opinion. Instead of investing in so many lamps, a nicer set of drawers and a flat screen TV would add more value and comfort for guests. The frames and posters on the walls had no harmony or were not in good condition. And a tall artificial plant on a corner made it look very cheap. As I said on the title, this place gets the job done, and I am just pointing out things/ suggestions that would improve the "feel" of it.

There is a small pool that looked nice on the warm days, but we did not use it.

In general, I was very pleased with our stay at the Adelaide Inn. It was a good base to explore the delightful wineries and the magnificent coastal areas of Central California.

Nice room with great space and bed! It has been recently renovated and really nice, also a great value. We only arrived late and left early the next day but it was a nice place to sleep and shower. Easy choice for the next trip!

It's not one of the finest stays in Paso, but it is clean, convenient, up to date and reasonably priced; and they often offer single night stays on weekends, so rare anymore in the Paso area. And very helpful staff!

Great service at check in and the staff was more then willing to answer questions. They also provided coupons for free wine tasting. It was a treat to soak in the hot tub after a long day. The cookies were a treat and the free wifi was appreciated.

Room Tip: Wonderful rooms and grounds

Our fourth two-night stay at this location, on our annual wine-tasting tour of the Central Coast town of Paso Robles. It's advertised sometimes as Bed & Breakfast, but in appearance and services it's a rustic individualistic motel that looks as if it was added onto in successive waves. Quirky bits of business add to the charm: lots of flowers and even vegetables (Swiss chard, for one) abound in the planters all over the property. There's a resident cat who sleeps on the sofa in the office. Big fat cookies arrive in the afternoon, and there's always fresh fruit and even scones and muffins in the morning. For breakfast there are $5 coupons, one each per person per day, included in the tariff. That's for Margie's diner, just on the next block, an easy walk away. Also, there's a Starbucks right across the street. The rooms are spacious and very well soundproofed. They're rather dark, and the old TV cabinet, while attractive, takes up a bit of space. The beds are comfortable and the linens are clean. Carpet appears to be replaced regularly. The pool looks OK (never tried it), and the location is near highways and kind of industrial. One unfortunate experience involved the room refrigerator. It was turned all the way "down" (i.e. not cold enough) and there was no knob to adjust. We didn't notice this the first day and so a lot of our food was not kept cool. When we reported it a maintenance person arrived very quickly, adjusted temp., apologized and offered to replace any spoiled food. We'll keep coming back.
