I can't talk enough about this place. Yeah, i know - should have written the review a little sooner - but this allows me to relive the great visit we had at Wild Coyote. Even the approach to the property was nice - driving up through the gates. You immediately felt the peacefulness and the native american and santa fe influence. It was pretty quiet and we were welcomed by Gianni - the owner. His kindness and down to earth appreciation for life came through immediately. Here was a man who was living his passion and it showed. As I said it was quiet and the first thing he did was move us to a room that would be even a little more peaceful. The rooms and property were decorated w/ art made by him and his wife. We did not want to leave - just enjoy the peacefulness of the property - take pictures, read, write and of course drink wine. We did go into town one day to pick up some cheese (hey you need cheese right?) and snacks for dinner. One day we did the wine tasting as well - was good to hear from someone so knowledgable and into what they do. While my wife enjoys red - I have now become a convert as well - no "wimpy whites" as the sign says. Raising the glass to your lips - you can smell the difference and the taste - wow so full of body. Of course we had to buy and bring home some - hmmm almost gone - perhaps we need another road trip! Gianni said that we needed to taste w/ Sean as he made it more fun but we enjoyed his company - there were a few others that came and went at the tasting. Watching the fog and having the breakfast each morning made for a very special stay. We did meet Sean one morning at our breakfast and yes you can tell he likes to laugh - we will have to spend more time here.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Navajo room. All rooms have a great view. If possible take a room further away fr...

Hi jenLeCreate, Thank you for writing your review! We really appreciate it! (even if its late.. better late then never )
I am so glad to hear about your wonderful time here with us and the Owners. They have such a passion for what they do and for the chance to offer you a place of tranquil and to relax and get away from "reality"
I look forward to having you stay with us again and hopefully we can get together in the tasting room for some vino and more laughs!
Cheers!

Extremely comfortable and attractive B&B. Breakfast was quite good too. A small quibble: in our room, the bathroom sink is not situated in the most practical position; it's tucked in a corner, but it looks good. The views are amazing. The concierge/manager whose name might be Sean, is terrific. He recommended restaurants and wineries which were all very very satisfying experiences. We highly recommend his input if you do not know Paso Robles.

I'm a little late writing this review, we stayed at the Wild Coyote in October 2011. The husband and I took a weekend away from the kiddies and found the Wild Coyote the perfect place to do just that. I love the feeling of the place and the obvious care the owners and staff take to make it a pleasant place to be. Breakfast was delicious and I was excited that there were means of making different hot drinks in the room, plus wine glasses!
Sean, the tasting room guy was hilarious, kind and knowledgeable, and the tasting room filled with pleasant people, and the wine is delicious!

My only two criticisms are:
- the bathroom was a little weird. The sink was at an awkward angle, there is no door, only a curtain (ok, I'm kind of squeamish about that kind of thing...), and the lighting was bad.
- At the cost of the place, I would have thought the wine "tasting" would be included each night one stays there. The tasting room was a pleasant place to hang out before dinner and I wasn't aware of being able to purchase wine by the glass. So tasting menu it was for our second night, but you get charged. Maybe this is something that could be reconsidered?

Thank you for making this a wonderful trip!

Hi there CarolaB.
Thank you for taking the time and writing your review. We love to hear the feedback. It’s lovely to hear that you and your husband had a nice and relaxing get away and that you enjoyed your time with us!! =0)
Per your suggestion about the wine tasting Im sure that if you popped in the second day that Sean would have taken good care of you and let you taste again at no cost, Also we try to avoid wine by the glass because we like to keep you and your wallet happy! it is $10 p/glass and if you buy two glasses that’s $20. When it is much more affordable to buy a bottle and then you end up with two extra glasses in the end ;0)
We hope you keep us in mind for your next visit to Paso Robles, and if you come with a group (6 or less) we also have our 3 Bedroom 2 Bathroom (with doors and better angled sinks) =) vacation house rental called our House of Zin. It overlooks our 5 acres of Zinfandel and is beautiful!
Cheers!

What a wonderful experience! Great rooms- we love the Taos feel of the rooms and tasting room. Excellent breakfast both mornings served by Sean who was so much fun. The view from our back patio was like looking out at Tuscany. We had an amazing time. Perfect!

The rooms are near the top of the hill and you overlook the Wild Coyote vineyard as well as that part of the valley. We spent most early evenings sitting on our patio, enjoying the view with a glass of wine and watching the wildlife scurry or fly by. The larger front patio was where breakfast was served in the morning. The breakfast was delicious and different every morning. This nice added touch helped us have an even more relaxing stay here because it was just one less thing to think about. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable. They are styled in adobe architecture with tile floors and are colorfully decorated. The beds were very comfortable and we both slept great. This is huge for us because often we don't sleep well in hotels and the like. The beds were perfect for us here. Everyone that worked there was extremely friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed the uniqueness of the Wild Coyote B&B because it makes for a much more intimate stay than doing the regular hotel thing. We will be staying there again soon and recommend it to anyone interested in staying Paso Robles.

My husband and I stayed at Wild Coyote two nights and didn’t want to leave. It was so peaceful and beautiful. Way more than I expected. I am usually very critical of hotels because they never live up to what is described on the internet, but this place far exceeded anything I could have imagined. All the rooms are quiet and the beds are very comfortable. Each room has a deck that looks over the vineyard. Breakfast was very yummy too. If you are going to Paso Robles don’t hesitate to try this place out.

Wild Coyote is a fantastic destination to spend a few relaxing days among the rolling hills and wineries. The rooms are whimsical. The vista from the patio magnificent. The breakfast served was spectacular. Worth every penny.

Room Tip: A bit off the beaten track but that just adds to the adventure.
