With 14-16 beers on tap, some with double digit alcohol content, it would be wise to have a DD (thank you Pirette!); especially if you intend to taste them all (which I did).
The tasting room itself is across the street from the brewery and is somewhat spartan, yet cozy. But we are not here for the atmosphere. We are here for the beer.
We started with the 805 Blonde, which is a simple brew made to hook the BudMillerCoors fans. Beyond a sip (just to say I had it),the Hefe is another meh wheatie in the Blue Moon, Shock Top, 312 realm (OK, I admit it, I put Hefe's and Merlot's in the same category - yuck!)
Once we got past the Pils, the fun began.
Union Jack, Wookey Jack, Double Jack, Walkers Reserve , OMG the taste buds were busting with Hops, Hops and more Hops. Toss in a Velvet Merlin, the Velvet Merkin (on Nitro) a Sucaba and now we're talking creamy chocolate notes and decadence (from beer????) Yes, from beer.
The staff was great, they were super knowledgeable and friendly (and patient). A tasteful afternoon.
