“A truly nice place to stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 6, 2013

We stayed here over the the Christmas and New Years holiday 2012/13, three days. Joyce, the host is such a wonderful person, very engaging, lots of great information for local wineries, restaurants etc. etc...
The house is totally unique, very modern displaying a variety of art work, paintings, pottery, all very nice to look at.
The room we stayed in.. starred the shower, yes it was the star. It's free standing and dominates the room, you may want to check out the pictures I've included, the glass shower may not be for you, but for us we enjoyed it for sure. From the one of a kind design to the performance, this shower was just flat out cool. You can access the room without going through the main part of the house if you want, it's your option.
Breakfast is to die for and Joyce also provides a 5pm appetizer/wine serving that is fantastic. this lady can really cook, truly a chef and her kitchen looks the part, very well done....everything we ate was fabulous....pre-breakfast goodies on your coffee tray which she'll generously prepares while she's getting breakfast ready...a real treat, a life style to which we should be accustomed I WISH!
The local wineries are fantastic so many to visit it's just crazy but Joyce was a lot of help discussing what we wanted to taste and every place she sent us we truly enjoyed. This goes for restaurant referrals as well, all spot on.
The bed was quite comfortable, slightly firm which is more to our liking than too soft. The view from the room/bed is great, vineyards surround you, the view is great we thought.
It's very quiet at night because it's about 5 miles outside of town. You need to consider that when making dinner reservations or whatever else and you might forget that it's not just down the street, it's a short drive but in the daytime, nice scenery, cool little road with some fun curves if you're in to that kind of thing......
Try this place for sure, Joyce is a treat, cooks like a dream and great fun to chat with, the house is unique and very comfortable and Joyce is a cool lady for sure, have fun, we sure did!!

Room Tip: Room with the free standing shower is absolutely unique, try it, it's different for sure but we...

Staying at Christopher Joyce Vineyard was a happy mistake. We actually got pushed out of another B&B (Wild Coyote), and Joyce had a cancellation and she saved my birthday weekend! As she said, we make lemonade out of lemons, and then have some wine.

When we got there, Joyce had a bottle of wine, cheese, crackers, and an amazing apple tart. And she also bought me an orchid for my birthday. She is so nice!

The location is about 10 min from downtown Paso Robles, in the back hills, off a gravel road. If you want a get away, this is the perfect location.

The house is very modern, clean, and comfortable. There are amazing views out of every window. We stayed in the Vineyard Loft, which is probably the biggest. It has a kitchenette, and living room area, and a great bathroom with a double shower.

Joyce’s hospitality is amazing. Amazing breakfast & afternoon appetizers. She is so welcoming and talkative. You can sit and talk to her for hours about just anything, especially wine. She is very accommodating to any of your needs. She gives the best recommendations of any activities or restaurants you would like to try.

There is nothing bad I can say about this place. I can’t wait to go back!

Room Tip: Opt for the Vinyard Loft.

You can't find a better place to stay in Paso Robles. We are seasoned Paso Robles visitors and found Christopher Joyce about 7 months ago through TripAdvisor. After two wonderful stays, we can't imagine staying anywhere else.

Location: The Inn is only about 10-15 minutes from downtown Paso and is close to some of the best wineries in town. The drive getting to the Inn is beautiful and you really do feel that you are "away from it all" without really being too remote from all the wonderful activities that Paso has to offer.

Decor: B&B's often scare us away because we feel like we're trapped in a Victorian dollhouse. But this Inn is modern and eclectic (rare for a B&B), while still being warm and welcoming. Joyce, the owner, has built the Inn from the ground up and there is no doubt that this is a true labor of love. She has quite the eye for art and design. The property itself is gorgeous - wood, stone, high ceilings, tasteful furniture and art, and there are amazing views of the vineyard from every part of the Inn.

Room: We stayed in the upstairs Vineyard Loft both times and it is worth it. There are views of the vineyard from every window and the room has a private entrance and patio. The shower is wonderful - a large stone double shower with views of the vineyard. The room is huge and well appointed, and during just a two day stay both times, we felt like we lived there. We have also seen the two other rooms, and while smaller, they each are well appointed, tastefully decorated, and have beautiful views. Also, each room has a unique bath/shower configuration which is always fun.

Joyce, the owner: We cannot say enough good things about Joyce (and her sweet dog Buster). She is the perfect host - warm, welcoming and knowledgeable about the area, without being overbearing. Her breakfasts are ridiculously delicious and rank among some of the best breakfasts we've had anywhere. She also serves a very generous (and delicious) "happy hour" which comes in handy after an afternoon of wine tasting. Sitting on the deck with Joyce's delicious appetizers, a glass of local wine, and chatting with the other guests is the perfect way to end the day. On one of our last stays, we were so full from the appetizers that we ended up cancelling our dinner reservation!

We feel like we are home when we stay at the Inn. We can't recommend it enough.

We stayed at Christopher Joyce for 3 nights in early September. We were looking for a place to unwind after a large family event in San Jose; we were thoroughly impressed with the experience. Joyce is a terrific cook and great host, and the suites are all very comfortable. We stayed in the second floor suite, which has a large sitting area, double shower, kitchenette, deck, and incredible views.

Both the breakfast and late afternoon "happy hour" were delicious; my wife and I both enjoy cooking and baking, and we had an opportunity to exchange recipes with Joyce, and to help out with the cooking from time to time, which added to our enjoyment of the experience.

The inn is about a 10-15 minute scenic drive to downtown, so, while it feels very removed from civilization, it is still very conveniently located to the many good restaurants in Paso Robles and to all the wineries in the area.

We highly recommend it, and plan to be back during our next trip to the West Coast.

Room Tip: If you can afford the small price differential between the upstairs suite and the two downstairs sui...

The Inn is about 10 minutes from downtown PR, set back in the vineyards off a gravel road. The loft has views across the vineyards and is light-filled and spacious. A fridge lets you bring back goodies from the day's travels and keep them chilled.

The furnishings in the home are beautiful and modern. Wood and stone and leather combine to feel both luxurious and comfortable. Delicious breakfasts made by Joyce will get you through to a very late lunch, but don't eat too much because the evening's cheese and wine appetizers, eaten while looking out to the hills and sunset, are also great.

You can enjoy talking to Joyce about wine making, grape growing, architecture, art, and more. A morning walk past vineyards with only birdsong and fresh air is a great way to start the day. She'll also help with dinner and winery recommendations.

This B&B is located in a real vineyard on a hill a few miles north of Paso Robles. You look out your picture windows onto vineyards all across the valley floor with the hills in the background. It's quite a vista. The vines are literally 10 feet from your balcony. The rooms are very well appointed and modern. The innkeeper (Joyce) has got the be one of the nicest persons I've met. And, she's a great cook! Don't miss breakfast or the evening snack - her food is better than the restaurants. Plan to spend some time on the wrap-around porch reading, writing, or just watching the grapes grow.

Just a few miles out of the main town transports you into a lovely vineyard and country area. Joyce is truely the quintessential host of this lovely B&B. Her cooking is incredible. Breakfast and afternoon app's & wine are of a crazy high quality. It's obvious that she loves what she does, it pours out in every detail of our stay.

Joyce is sure to please all travelers, from picky to shy. She has a way about her that puts everyone in a great place. I recommend this particularly for those who travel w/ a companion reluctant to stay at a B&B.

Outside is her dry farmed zinfindel vineyards. Cattle and horses closeby along with deer, hawk and quite an amazing array of birds and wildlife. Inside every room is beautifully decorated, maximizing the views outside with comfort inside.

Her Jack Russell Buster is also a little host in his own right. He naturally senses who wants attention. He and my female Cassie were almost inseparable.

Highly recommended. Can I give her 6 stars?
