We wanted to make my wifes 40th birthday very special and frankly this wonderful villa exceeded all our expectations, we stayed for three nights!
Sat on a hilltop this stunning home has the most amazing views of the Paso Valley and vineyards. The rooms were spotless, Lois and Mark, the hosts are just wonderful, so too was Beth who welcomed us to our room when we first arrived in the evening.
The Pictures on the website are as wonderful as the experience. Lois is a wealth of wine knowledge and a foody, so can help make local recommendations to go explore. There are hillside hot tubs nearby for a romantic interlude, the "Vine Line" Wine Tours also picks up from outside the door and can take you on a tour of the vinyards of your choice.
We purchased our own champagne and deli stuff from the local market for supper on two night and Lois provided glasses and cutlery (and anything else you needed). We soaked in the hot tub under candle light, played music of the IPAD, and the bed was sooo comfy! In the morning a mist lays over the valley below and you look over the top - it was simply beautiful! Breakfast was served on the terrace outside - Eggs Benedict, an artichoke suffle, juice, coffee... all yummy and that view, wow! There's a fast wireless network too if you need to sync up. Complimentary wine and cheese in the afternoon made it special for everyone.
As the Villa was almost empty mid week we sneeked a peek at all the rooms! All are individual and beautfully styled depending on your budget and taste! All were spotless, super comfy beds and with individual touches that made them unique. There are some first class eateries in town but if you intent to live it up and stay late make arrangements to get back! The taxis turn into pumpkins (or vampires) around 10pm so you could get stranded. It's a great way to make new friends though when you bum a ride home as we did, you never know who you'll meet and we met a great couple who I'm sure will turn out life long friends!
This is truly one of the best places to stay in California period! Just around 2-3 hrs North from Los Angeles. There are some of the finest Boutique Vineyards in Paso Robles and we love staying in boutique hotels and B & B's. Napa can be great, but Paso has Award winning wines too but without the overcrowded tasting rooms and commercialization!
If you are thinking of a getaway for a couple of nights between LA and San Francisco, or exploring California wine country, Hearst Castle, or Solvang you cannot go wrong booking in here! We absolutely loved it and we can't wait to go back for our anniversary in October!
