While the price is right, the management is, how can I say it, run by East Indians and an old man whose role I can only guess as the "day guy".
The rooms are ok, the bed so so, the shower needs upkeep and the nights, somewhat noisy.

The benefits are you are less than a mile from great restaurants on E Colorado and Rosemead going south as well as quick access to the 210 freeway.

I stayed at several 2-3 star hotels in the area including:

Hilton Pasadena (great but expensive parking),
Best Western Pasadena Colorado Blvd (clean, slow WiFi)
Best Western Royal Pasadena (next door, little bit more but good breakfast)
Holiday Inn Express (best all around but costs 25 more on average)

The OLD saying is true...... You get what you pay for, GREAT rate however the place is a DUMP. I've at the days inn several times and the experience has always been amicable, however the last time my room 211 was FILTHY FILTHY, the inn was SOLD out and I could not change my room, so I went to the local market purchased cleaning supplies and cleaned my room...... When I went to complain to the fronk desk person in the morning only to be told by a DRUNK OLD white guy that he didnt speak spanish and the house keepers dont speak english but I will look into it......................I was so IRRITATED that I called the head office LONG story short I got a credit of 38.00 back................... RUN FOREST RUN FOREST hahahahahahaha

I will keep this short and sweet: DO NOT stay at this hotel! We stayed for 3 nights. We did not once have maid service. I had to take the wet, used towels to the front desk myself and beg for new ones. The man who runs the place is a surly, ignorant, rude, oaf. He reuses the key card envelopes by erasing the old number and putting your room number on. The keys are difficult to program to unlock your room door because the magnetic strips are FILTHY. This guy even licked his fingers and ran them over the strip trying to clean it. He had to try 4 cards before he could find one that would program correctly in the machine. There is very little parking -- not even one spot per room. The showers do not have any rubber mats (they do not even offer them --- we asked), no hand rails, not even a soap dish on the wall to hang on to. Showering is a very slippery and scary experience. If you dial '0' to get the front office, nobody answers -- I tried for a full 15 minutes. When I finally just walked up to the office, the girl was just sitting there. I repeat: DO NOT STAY HERE!

We got there about 6pm and enter into the lobby to check in, first off no one is at the counter we rang the bell twice and waitied, the gentlemen that came to the counter were far from hotel staff dressed (sweats and dirty t-shirts), one of the men showed us the rooms we would stay in (we had 2 rooms). As myself and daughter entered our room we found bugs on the bed pillows, I asked my Hubby to get the manager and show him... he proceeded to tell me they were bugs that flew in during the cleaning by the maids. I thankfully brought spray & lysol and sprayed EVRYTHING. The beds were differant sizes differant types (hard-soft) and very unclean looking, the bathroom was nicely redone in a tile BUT was growing a desent amount of mold on the celing, my Hubby's room the shower had no pressure and would only trickle water from it(so we all used the shower in our room), to tired to argue at that moment we went to bed. In the morning my daughter went into the lobby to get breakfast and was meet by one of the men staff members... she came back empty handed telling me that the guy scared her by strangly watching her and moaning weirdly. I went in with her and the man wasnt to be found behind the counter. The breakfast items were far and few between and the milk for the cereal was rotten. Being we werent planning on being there besides to sleep we stayed out our stay, not a good idea, my daughter was woken up to screaming outside and a fight in the parking lot. The day we left we saw the one staff member standing outside again in sweats and a t-shirt watching us pack our car (I agreeed with my daughter he was very uncomfortable acting), while he was cleaning and striping beds in the rented rooms. (their maid?) Needless to say I was VERY happy to leave and I will NEVER return or refer anyone to the establishment.
