My wife and I had lunch here on a Saturday. We sat outside on the sidewalk, despite the 100 degree heat. It was in the shade, there was a light breeze, and after all, it was 119 back home in Phoenix. 100 is nothing. We were the only ones sitting outside, which is always a concern because if you’re all alone in an area of a restaurant, especially outside and out of view, it’s easy to get ignored. That was not the case.
Our waiter, Charlie, was with us immediately, and was continuously efficient throughout. One weird thing, though. After he took our drink order and dropped them off, he said he was going on break and introduced a girl who’d take of us while he was breaking. Why she wasn’t assigned our table from the get-go is beyond me. Anyway, despite that bit of weirdness, service didn’t suffer. When I drained my beer, another showed up almost immediately. And that’s how it oughta be.
They have a huge menu and extensive list of beers, but we stuck to nachos and non-fancy beers so I can’t speak to the quality of anything other than nachos and Corona, both of which were excellent, but it’s a bar and I wasn’t expecting much. We didn’t see much of the inside of the place other than during trips to the bathroom, but it looked like a cool place to hang out, drink beer all day, and avoid reality.
Bottom line on our visit: Great service, great place to sit outside, eat nachos, drink beer, and watch the world go by.
