BED BUGS IN TWO ROOMS LAST NIGHT! Was offered a second room (after being bloodied in the first) at a 10% discount only to find bed bugs there too! Very rude and wouldn't admit they saw them although I had a dead one and bloodied pillowcase in the office when I left at 2am for home in AZ. Today received admission from genereal mgr. BEWARE!

SO freaked out. Didn't want to check in another hotel for fear my bags are infected. They're still in my vehicle until I can get a pest company! BEWARE!

Pasadena Health Dept. closed on Friday so won't be able to make an official report until Monday. BEWARE!

Stayed just one night when in Pasadena to go to the racetrack. Had a large, comfortable and clean room, reasonably priced and friendly staff. Nice continental breakfast,too. right across from the train station which worked well for us. Would stay again.

We stayed over New Years day to attend the Rose Parade. We landed at LAX in the morning and immediately took the rental care to the Getty Museum. We were really worn out when we arrived at the Quality Inn. Maggie made the check-in easy and quick. We took the elevator to the third-floor room. The room was just as reserved. All was clean and made up. It had a really large refrigerator. Our room had no microwave but there is one available 24/7 in the lobby. I thought it might be noisy facing Colorado Blvd., but generally it was not.

The lobby is done up in a lovely Asian motif that reminds me of living in the far east as a child. This is also where you eat breakfast. The menu is simple but they do prepare it for you and bring it out. There is really no room for a buffet style serving area. Normal breakfast hours are 6:30 to 9:00 AM, but on New Years day they actually started breakfast at 5:00 AM so people would have plenty of time to eat and get to the parade. We had grandstand seats near Pasadena City College. It was two miles to our seats but we decided to walk. So the early breakfast was super. I wish I had gotten the name of the man and two women that were helping. They did a nice job.

There are also two tables in the lobby. (There are also two small brass tables that looked Chinese to me.) These are available for use during other times of day. The large table has eight chairs. There are also a few board games. I noticed one family eating carryout food family style around the big table. This was a cool and easily overlooked feature. There is fresh fruit on the front desk available for snacks.

It was cold when we were there. It was 35F the morning of the parade. So we did not use the pool/hot tub/exercise area at all.

One thing needs some work: There is a nice large flat screen TV in the room. But all of the channels are standard definition. This makes no sense. Surely there is some way to at least get the local broadcast channel in HD. The TV was in proper working order, but the lack of HD channels was a glaring inconsistency.. If you aren't planning to watch any TV this will not matter to you at all.

There was a nice strong wifi signal in our room, 307.

All in all, I think this is more like a three-star hotel. I saw it listed as a two-star.

And last, but surely not least, I would like to thank the front desk staff. In addition to Maggie, I would like to commend Penny who was working on New Years Day. Penny is a hotel professional. If I were running the Hotel I would promote her to manager ASAP. She I asked her about here experience and she has been in the hotel business something like seven years. She has both the competence and the ability to connect with people that are needed in a public service business. She also seems to enjoy her work. I noticed Ross was mentioned in another review. He also appears to be very professional, but I did not get to work with him directly.

I enjoyed my stay, being a returning customer. An employee by the name of Ross exceeded my expectations and gave me that legendary experience that I will surely be back for again. What a guy! Great line of staff but Ross held it down and made sure I got in my room with no problems
