Me, my husband & our cat stayed in the Pasadena Quality Inn for 14 days (Oct '12 - Nov '12) & we are extremely pleased! We were relocating to California from Wisconsin & I was looking for a hotel where we can stay with our cat while finding an apartment in the Pasadena area- we chose Quality Inn.
The staff were very friendly & helpful. We originally booked for 7 days but we had to extend it for 7 days more. The hotel staff had been extremely helpful facilitating the extension. Due to some special event around that time in Pasadena area, the hotel (& all other hotels within our reach) were already booked. But the hotel staff made sure that we get a room & can stay in the same room. They really took personalized care for me & my family. The front day staff, dining staff, room service- everyone was very nice & friendly. I am sorry I do not remember everyone's name but I thank each of you for making our stay so pleasant. Maggie fell in love with our cat. & Rosie, I'm so sorry to write the review so late. You guys rock! The front desk lady who booked for our extension ( I'm sorry I don't know your name), I thank you for your great service. She actually had to keep an eye for any cancellation & called us as soon as there was a free room. & the front desk guy (I guess Dennis) also helped a lot.
The hotel tried to provide everything in its budget. There is a pool, sauna, gym, laundry room. You can even rent bicycles for free! The breakfast was fresh & healthy. The items included- fresh pancakes, eggs, bagels, danishes, hot & cold cereals, fruits, yogurt, twinkies & many more. The guy in the dining service always greeted me in a warm manner. The breakfast area was nicely decorated. Our room had a big screen TV, fridge, wet bar etc. The bed was very big & comfy. The room was neat & clean. The surrounding was pretty quiet with a nice view of the mountain.
On the down side, I always felt the absence of a microwave in the room. Although we used the microwave in the common area but having one inside the room would have been more comfortable. The room key card had to reprogrammed a number of times which was a bit irritating. I really hope you guys would do something about it.
Overall, my stay in the hotel was extremely satisfactory. It has a very nice bunch of staffs & numerous amenities at an affordable price. I strongly recommend this hotel.

The Quality Inn, Pasadena is conveniently located on Clorado Blvd., about 6 miles east of downtown. The room was clean and the large flat-screen TV was appreciated. Parking is free and easy. The elevator did not work so we hauled bags up stairs. The lobby is oddly decorated in some sort of Mideast/Asian motiff and your free breakfast is somewhat mysteriously brought out to you from behind a curtain.

One big irritant-We booked this room to fulfill a two stay requirement for a free night at Choice Hotels. When booking on line the website automatically gave me frequent flyer miles credit (I was not aware of this) thus I did not qualify for the free night. I'm through with Choice Hotels (buyer beware) after being told later this was irreversible.

Was in Pasadena to see UCLA play University of Arizona at the Rose Bowl. Just so happened that the Breeder's Cup was the same weekend. Most hotels were crazy expensive. Quality Inn was nicely priced at 189/night.

The location is good, but not great. $15 cab ride to Old Town. That said, the rooms were clean, the staff was friendly, and parking was free.

When in Pasadena this is a viable option.

We booked this hotel needing to be close to the Pasadena Convention Center for an event. All the hotels were booked or running prices at triple to quadruple their usual rates because of multiple special events in the area that weekend. When the Quality Inn popped up we grabbed if after seeing some good Tripadvisor reviews. The first down side for us was that it was 8 miles from the convention center and we did not have a car. We have learned that Pasadena taxis are difficult and very expensive ($25 for the few miles to the convention center), so plan to have a car if you stay here. They are close to the Metro Gold line. The staff is very good and seems to work hard to provide a good stay. The beds were comfortable. We had a room away from the street and it was very quiet. There was some inconsistency in maintenance, with some windmillagility.com/areas being very clean and nice and others not so much. Our biggest problem was that there were large pieces of caulk missing around the shower, and we kept getting parades of tiny ants coming through. If we had contacted the desk, they may have been able to do something, but in the end we were able to get a room next to the convention center for the last 2 of our 4 nights for a discounted rate.
