Booked this hotel for my family to stay in while I was finishing packing up to leave the Pasadena area. The location is relatively central 10 min to old town Pasadena and less to the Paseo both with shops, bars and restaurants. Also across the road from Whole Foods market with 2 floors of gorgeous (but pricey) food and just a few minutes walk to the gold line metro train which will get into downtown LA in about 20 minutes. Room is as you would expect a standard inn, we had a corner room with 2 double beds and it was a good size and was tucked in the back corner so the house from the main route into central Pasadena (Arroyo Parkway) did not affect us. Other facilities we basic but clean and good, just a basic buffet for breakfast, a pool, small laundry facility and free parking.

My wife and I lived in Pasadena for years before relocating. We stayed at the Pasadena Inn because of the location. It's a great location close to shopping, Colorado Blvd, dining, and a Whole Foods across the street. We've stayed previously at the Langham and W hotels, but wanted something a little less pricey. The Pasadena Inn delivered on all our expectations and excelled in customer service and value. Everyone there went above and beyond to meet all our needs and requests. All the staff, from the desk to the nice woman cooking breakfast upstairs were very friendly. The desk staff was always available and would literally jump up to help every time I walked into the office. My wife is 7 months pregnant with our second child and when I requested some extra pillows for her they were delivered to our room in 5 min. The complementary breakfasts are good (waffles, cereal, fruit, yogurt, eggs, juices, coffees, etc). There is a nice woman to help with anything you need during breakfast and cook eggs or waffles if needed. We visit LA and Pasadena at least once a year and this will be our go to hotel for all future visits. This is not a super fancy hotel, but it's a solid comfortable inn with great service. In my opinion the Pasadena Inn is the best value in all of Pasadena.

Stayed here two nights over Mother's Day weekend. Booked thru Hotels.com and requested upper level quiet room because of being a SFT and that I would be arriving late evening cuz of taking Amtrak. Checked in at 9pm, to be told they had not received my instructions, they had placed me in a ground floor room and that there was no other rooms cuz of being full up that night. I stood my ground since they had obviously had received the rest of my booking information. They "found" a room up on the third level and I took that. sigh.... They forgot to mention that it was near one of the outside smoking spots and thus I was up late that night because of the noise.

As previous posters have stated, I agree that the walls are thin. Otherwise how else could you hear the screaming kids from the pool area three levels down and over 50 feet away. In addition, because of the closed shape, car door slams etc. echo all over.

My other complaint was finding numerous hairs in the bathtub, and on the blanket underneath the bedspread. Otherwise, the bed was comfortable and once I was able to crank up the AC to block out the noise, I was able to sleep some.

The MW and frig worked fine as well as the shower pressure. The location is 5 minute walk from the Del Mar Gold line station and diagonally across the street from a very large Whole Foods market. I had no problems walking by myself at 9pm at night with luggage. It is also easy to walk to Colorado Blvd. from here.

It is a shame because if the walls were better insulated, this place could be a solid three stars, but I can only give it two because the noise was so bad.

Recommend if you are able to sleep thru noise or are large family doing road trip because of free convenient parking. Or bring ear plugs.

For us strangers, a cheap and comfortable option to stay close to LA but in a very calm environment. A convenient choice if you need a clean room with a good bed and a good bathroom at the end of a day out. Basic nice breakfast, self-service laundry, iron in your room... just take care with being noisy: the walls are very thin and hollow...
