If you plan to stay in LA for a few days, you should consider to book a room at this hotel. Why? Because it offers a price/quality rate you won't find at locations closer to the hotspots of LA. Besides, Pasadena is a nice town to visit on its own. This hotel is located at the western part of E. Colorado Boulevard: easy to find by car (close to the 210) and just a 20 minute walk to the old center of Pasadena, which is a friendly area with a lot of nice shops, restaurants and cinemas. For the hotel itself: you'll get a clean, spacious room with a huge tv screen (well, for some people this can be important!), enough parking space and a 'continental' breakfast slightly better than what you're probably used to if you tend to stay in hotels in the not-too-expensive category (which obviously doesn't mean you 'll get a 5-star breakfast for this price). What could I add? The staff is friendly - though the hotel manager is a grumpy guy, but well, who cares? Conclusion: you won't regret booking this place!

As a huge Breeders Cup fan, I know to book VERY early. I have tried 2 other hotels already and was not happy with them. I consulted Trip Advisor and took Vagabond, then booked last December. Got a bargain rate, (less than $100 a night). Great location on Colorado Blvd near the race track. Room was good size, clean, had the best flatscreen TV we had ever gottten in a room, microwave and fridge. Bathroom was very tiny with almost no counterspace, but it looked renovated and was very clean. Towels were limited. One part of the drapes were falling down in the upper corner, more cosmetic than anything. Bed was a little firm, but reasonably comfortable. Overall, it was far better than the last two hotels we stayed in and a real bargain! Rooms were inside, there was an elevator to use. Free wifi. More than likely will use this Inn again next year. Definately recommend, these buildings were built long ago, the bathrooms are what they are.

Rooms were ok, clean bath and beds, not so spacious room with microwave and refrigerator....located near a bus stop and q mile distance from metro station...however LA is so big that it would take you 1 1/2 hour to reach any interesting place...Pasadena restaurants are 2 miles away and it is a very cool and nice area to stay at night...

Bad thing without any doubt is the personal, specially the customer service...they are not aware of room rates and try to overcharge you for nothing.....they arent at all friendly and their credit card system sucks....they should re-train their staff and try to treat better the customers...

I stayed at 3 Pasadena hotels during a 4-week business trip. This was the cheapest, and quite a modest hotel, but it really had all I wanted and was excellent value. The pool was good for swimming in compared to the more expensive hotels. The breakfast was basic, but free and I could put a healthy filling combination together. The room was a bit larger than I expected, with good storage, a microwave oven and definitely clean. I was on the third floor, so handy to the washing machine - great on an extended trip. Main negative: the air conditioner was noisy.
