The Sheraton was nice and very convenient to Maples Pavilion and the football stadium. However there was not anything that sets it apart from other hotels, and the fact that you have to pay for internet access for a hotel in this class. As other posts have mentioned, the staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are of average size and provide enough comfort. There is a parking lot shared with the Westin Hotel next door as well as anyone else who wants to park. It is free for guests, and you enter and exit with your room key.
The restaurant has good food but is overpriced. It is a good choice if you get to the hotel late and do not want to wander downtown. The hotel is close enough to walk to restaurants downtown, so it is best to wander downtown and leave your car at the hotel. I did not eat breakfast, as no breakfast is worth $20. It is better to walk down the street to the shopping center and eat at a restaurant or cafe there for a third of the price.
If you are going to Stanford University, the hotel is conveniently located. I would recommend it, just do not expect too much.
