We have just returned from a two day stay at the Cowper Inn. The best thing by far, is the location. It is maybe two blocks to a nice shopping area. It took us about 25 minutes to walk to the Stadium at Stanford. The room was ok. We stayed in room 28 in the Victorian House. It was large and clean but smelled a little musty. There was a comfortable bed and a small kitchenette.
We checked in and were shown our room by a young man after that, all we saw was one woman. This woman seemed to be running the entire place by her self, cooking and serving breakfast and cleaning rooms. If you want or need interaction with staff, this is not the place for you. The breakfast was a Buffett and had adequate food, nothing special. Palo Alto is a pricey place so I guess this place is reflective of what the market will bear. This was a three day week end and the place was about half full. It was an ok place but is pretty basic.
