“A bistro worthy of Paris”

I have been to Pastis on two occasions and have been impressed with all of the elements. The manager/owner Max is a consumate host. He has excellent taste in wines and is creating a world class cellar with choices at all price points. The food is superb and the service is also great. I had a simple moule fritte last night that was delicious and bountiful. My wife had the coquille and also enjoyed it immensely. For desert we shared a Tarte Tatin that was of high quality. You can save your airfare and eat in Paris at Pastis in Palo Alto!!!

Excellent omelette with home made sausage and super eggs benedict. Cosy, fun French vibe. Quick and friendly service.

Helpful, friendly staff. Very nice authentic french ambiance. Heavenly Tarte Tatin. Plenty of french "classic" dishes

“Great neighborhood gem”

This is a wonderful French bistro run by a long-time restaurant owner in Palo Alto. It is very small and feels authentic. Max, the owner serves about a dozen typical French bistro dishes along with daily specials. Portions are large. I especially love the salads, coq au vin, fish dishes, mussels, and fresh vegetables. They are also open for brunch with fantastic eggs dishes and beautiful sandwiches. There is outside dining on California Ave which makes the experience even more Parisian.
