“Keep coming back”

We love this hotel. The staff is awesome. The rooms are great. The location is prime. What is not to love. This trip we also tried the restaurant at the hotel. I cannot wait to go back to Palo Alto so we can stay at the Westin!

I booked this hotel for my Palo Alto combined business and pleasure long weekend trip. The location is excellent - you can easily walk (as we did every day) to University Street for all the great dining and shopping. We had a car and parked it on the property - the parking is expensive as was expected. Using the map check and see if you can walk and use public transportation to get around and you might not need your car. The front desk staff are warm and welcoming and always greeted us each time we went through the lobby. The lobby is very small and was a bit congested at check in but the staff was efficient and got us checked in. I followed a Trip Advisor review and called ahead and booked a room with direct access to the pool. GREAT call! Our room was sunny and bright and had sliders right onto the pool deck! My teenaged daughter loved this and I did too. The pool is small but pretty and we enjoyed a daily swim and soak in the hot tub as well as relaxing on the deck chairs. There is food and drink service if you wish. The room itself was clean and spacious. The bathroom was really nicely sized for the two of us. We did not eat on the premises as we found wonderful dining using Trip Advisor for locations on University. There was a strange deal that was offered at check in that we took but did not ever understand. We were told if we declined daily bed making and bathroom cleaning that we would get a discounted rate. We were told that housekeeping would pick up dirty used towels and empty waste baskets. We accepted this. One of the days they didn't even pick up the wet towels or empty the wastebaskets. We were happy to make our own bed but then in the end there was no discount...very strange. Overall we had a really nice visit to Palo Alto and would recommend the room with pool access if you enjoy the pool use.

Room Tip: If you like to use the pool and/or are travelling with children or teens request a room with pool ac...

I would definitely recommend this hotel. It is clean, convenient to the university/ restaurants/train station and is a good value for the quality of product. The service at the front desk was very friendly too. The only challenge was 2 fire alarms went off while we were there; however, everyone, including the lobby bartender bent over backwards to make it right!

Stayed here for two nights on business and paid over $500 for a room that would be significantly less anywhere else including New York !

It's clean and basic . The staff are very pleasant . The breakfast buffet is ok.

Stay at the Garden Court Inn if you can. Similar price , much more pleasant environment .

We like clean. We know the Westin standard and trust that we are going to be taken care of when we stay at a Westin.
We were able to walk from the hotel to town and enjoy the vibe in Palo Alto. Will definitely go back.

I have stayed at the Westin Palo Alto (WPA) three or four times in the past year for work. I know there is a ton going on in Palo Alto and the surrounding area but I can't believe how hard it is to get a room here and how much they can charge! My rating of two dots is reflective of the price paid relative to the quality. The accomodations are passable, but I expect more for the rate and much more from Westin.

WHY YOU MIGHT LIKE THE WESTIN PALO ALTO
1. Location. You may need to get to Stanford, downtown Palo Alto or somewhere else in Silicon Valley. The WPA is convenient to all of the above. You can walk to downtown Palo Alto or do a morning run on the Stanford campus.
2. Parking. I like the parking at the WPA. Drive down the ramp, slide your card, park and take the elevator up to the lobby. Very convenient.
3. Staff is very nice. I've arrived very late, and the front desk staff is always cheerful and welcoming. It's a pleasure interacting with the front desk.

WHY YOU MIGHT NOT LIKE THE WESTIN PALO ALTO
A. Value. The rates are not commensurate with the quality of accomodation. I've paid over $400 and these rooms are very basic.
B. Room and decor. The decor (color scheme, hallways, and room) is downright depressing. The rooms good use an upgrade and are not up to Westin quality.
C. Fitness room. Abysmal. I recommend running outside.
D. Hallways. It's a long walk and I end up walking in circles.

Dear gocats89,
Thank you for your review. I am sorry to hear of your frustration with our rates, I suspect it takes a lot of people by surprise when traveling to Silicon Valley. As you may know, we just completed a room renovation and are in the midst of replacing all of our Heavenly Beds. I hope that you will give us another chance and hope you will find some improvements that are to your liking. We take guest feedback to heart and use it to improve our offering where possible.
Warmest Regards,
Tanya F.

Stayed two nights while one of the kids finished up a program at Stanford. The hotel was convenient to the school and downtown. It is laid back and quaint. Not what I expected. The rooms are large and comfortable. The bathrooms are decently sized. There is a small lobby bar where you can get a drink and a sandwich. The bartender was very nice and attentive. Check in and out was easy and everyone was friendly.
