Not convenient, but you expect this off of University Ave in Palo Alto. Street Parking.
Handsome Staff! Great service. Very poilte.
Do not get anything stuffed with rice. It will be disappointing. but everything else was quite excellent.
They have an excellent selection of menu items, that you would be able to order in Turkey.
Mezes Sampler- Possibly best falafel I have ever had. Crispy, light, rich, flavorful. Baba Ganoush smoky and rich.
Plenty of fresh pita type bread served with roasted red pepper dipping sauce, we could have licked the bowl.
I was quite disappointed with the "Patlican Dolma (Entree)": Grilled eggplant stuffed with onion, parsley, tomato, rice, sun-dried grapes, and pine nuts, served with yogurt. $16- basically just just a roasted 1/2 eggplant stuffed with barely spiced rice- found 1 pine nut, no sun-dried grapes, tomatoes, parsely or anything else at all. Very disappointing with this dish.
My husband order the "Baklava Shish Kebab: Beef, Chicken, Lamb Kebab and Kofte serv Turkish rice pilaf, grilled vegetables and Taziki $21"-
- all of the meat was perfectly grilled. Expertly spiced, and very moist and nice size portions. This was worth the price and excellent.
Baklava with Ice cream- warm, crispy, good. Average, pretty tasty. At least it wasn't stale.
It is difficult to find really good Turkish Food in the U.S.. Out of the places available in the SF Penisula area, I think Baklava is an excellent option. The food is very fresh and seems pretty authentic, the place is bustling, the decor is upscale.
I will be going back, I just won't order the Patlican again.
