This is a really special event, whether it be for business, or couples. Yes, expensive, but the food is exquisite, modern French, a tasting menu with or without matching wines. The place is more in Ventura than Palo Alto, but caters to the well healed denizons of this part of California. The service was almost impeccable, the food presentation excellent, correctly paced, and the right amount of food by the end. It was as good as Tetsuya's in Sydney. My only quibble was some bits of cork floating in the by-the-glass NV Krug we had : that is inexcusable in a starred restaurant. Overall an amazing culinary outing. Would return there instantly.
