“The ideal college”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 27, 2013

Beautiful campus and so clean. Too bad it's near-impossible to be admitted. Campus tour was well-organized. Athletic facilities were pristine.

“Leland Stanford Jr University is not a Jr University”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 15, 2013

Do you want to really understand the San Francisco peninsula and its surroundings? The Spanish explorers and Jesuit priests looked over the bay and saw a lone large redwood tree. They called it Palo Alto (Large tree.) If you have a day of sightseeing visiting SF, try Palo Alto and Stanford University. If you want to know the modern history read Job's biography. You will be more than overwhelmed and delighted with the Rodin sculptures and the artifacts bought for sickly Leland Jr while the railroad building Stanford family showed how the West was Won. The Chinese black squirrels found only on grounds are due to this little boys small zoo. The cages broke during the 06 quake and wham - beautiful creatures jumping from tree to tree. Best to see on the many Palo Alto bike trails.

“Beautiful campus”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 14, 2013

Really interesting campus to visit; the highlights are the main quad with the campus chapel and the Hoover memorial tower ($2), which gives you great views of the Valley.

“GO CARDINAL!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 10, 2013

Great things happen at this university. It is like Disneyland for the mind. For visitors, there are definitely enough things to do and see (campus tour, art museums, cafes, hiking trails) to fill a whole day.
