“great!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 17, 2013

My and my boyfriend stayed here for 2 nights and it was very nice. I learned they redid the rooms and everything before booking and it definitely shows. the only issue we had was the room was slightly small, and the bathroom was as well especially the shower. I didn't like that the shower was small but everything else didn't bother me. The bed was super comfortable, nice tv, and having a back door leading to a little patio was very nice. Also they didn't have any outlets next to the beds but they had some on the lamp on the desk so it wasn't a big deal just something to remember. but overall had a great stay and the staff was very friendly and overall great experience.

This former Travelodge stands out as great because the rates are great, the pool has cabanas, and the staff are very friendly.

The downsides: they now charge for their basic continental breakfast (though coffee is at least free), and the lobby has been cheesed out a bit in terms of decor (formerly a purple fleur de lis wall paper and Marilyn Monroe pics and couches, now bright orange, white, lime green, leather seats and overall art deco tacky). Another change was no coffee pots in the room but rather a single serving cup set up- definitely a down grade too.

Still, for the price, and how nice everyone there is, not to mention the gorgeous heated pool and hot tub, this is a steal for 65$+ a night near the Ace Hotel and a lengthy but pleasant walk to Downtown PS. The rooms range from basic to spacious, and have great flat screen TVs, good fridges, and great shower heads.

I am anxious to see what other changes will be made to this place, given that the recent ones in my opinion are not upgrades but rather changes to perhaps change the style from modern (reminded me of the W) to retro/cheesy.

The grounds keeper is also very helpful and sweet, and greeted us with towels on his golf cart when he saw our big group!

This motel is no longer a Travelodge. Since we stayed here a year earlier, the room has been repainted and redecorated, much more attractive. Bed seemed softer (more comfortable) now. A new LCD TV is mounted on the wall. The carpet could use a shampooing or replacement. The carpet and drapes don't fit the new decor either. The breakfast offered in the lobby is no longer included in the rate, but the room rate dropped more than enough to compensate. Coffee, tea, and the use of the microwave in the lobby are still free.

I would highly recommend staying here as a safe alternative to a chain hotel. The place was recently renovated and feels fresh and up-beat. It's clean and comfortable. The man who helped us was extremely friendly. There's a pool, hot-tub, and free wifi. It's a neat place at a good price!

Stay at the Curve Palm Springs for one night on December 7, 2012. A short stay enroute to a funeral in Lake Arrowhead. First I would like to state that I appreciated the quick response I received from the Hotel's General manager when I had emailed a questions about airport transfers. A quick response is always appreciated even when its not the answer you want (there are no airport transfers).

I arrived at the hotel at approximately 8pm after a long flight. The lobby area was nice and the evening front desk clerk was very friendly and offered information on restaurants etc. The grounds appear well kept and felt safe.

Now for the concerns:
- Room has been given a few modern upgrades but the effort looks cheap. There was a space under the door where rodents/insects could easily get in. I however did not notice any in the room. I blocked this gap with a towel.
- washroom was small and the shower was rediculously small. I am 6ft tall and had to duck getting in and out.
- The show head leaked spraying water onto the ceiling which would then drip on my head(reported to F/D on checkout and was offered an apology...it was appreciated)
- the paint in the washroom is peeling in several places and there are stains on the washroom wall. They look like soap stains as it was white.
- the bed was comfortable enought and sheets were clean and tidy.
- I did not use the pool areas but they appeared clean and the families that were present seemed to be enjoying it.

I am conflicted because the rates are good but it appears that they are trying to put a little lipstick on the dog. Instead of spending money on somewhat funky upgrades they should get the small things right within the rooms.

If you are looking for a quick, cheap stay this might be the place.

On my way out of Palm springs I decided to book into the Palm Mountain Resort instead. It is more convenient to downtown's restaurants and shopping and was more or less the same price. Rooms was blah but clean and everything fuctioned properly.

Room Tip: if staying here again I would want to be near the main pool

Felt like a hipster. I was the first to stay in there renovated room. Ahh, til next time. The bed was comfy and the upgrades were unexpected. Staff was friendly but the continental breakfast was pathetic. I am sure I just caught them in a transistion stage. Pool looked amazing. Great ambiance. Will most def stay again.

Yes, it's still the footprint of the old Travel Lodge -- but oh my, what a difference a face-lift makes. The place feels totally different and in a very good way. Quite splashy and colorful, although gone are the Bear Bites. You now must step up with your wallet and your appetite each morning. But beach-cruisers await you, as does that massive jacuzzi, two wonderful swimming pools, some fancy chaise-lounges and fluffy towels from the Front Desk. Good show, The Curve. Can't wait to get back!
