“Not as good as it was”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 22, 2012

Admittedly it's a very long time since we last stayed here - 20 years. We returned as we remembered Las Brisas as being very special in those days, quite up-market and with clientele to match.

Seems it has slipped rather down the social scale in the intervening years. There are still some good qualities though - the pool is lovely, sheltered and characterful and our room was pleasant enough.

Breakfast is ridiculously badly organised. You have to queue in a long line while just one cook tries valiantly to cook hot breakfast for everyone. On a Sunday morning the line stretched right to the entrance door.

We would not return.

Dear DavidLondon2008, We are disappointed, as you are, that you found Las Brisas not to your satisfaction. I can assure you we are working on improving all facets of operations and hope you give us another try in the near future. We take great pride in our pool, rooms and looking after our beautiful grounds all year. Again, thank you from all the staff at Las Brisas and we hope you will give us another try. Sal Rodriguez, Manager.

This is the third time I have stayed at Las Brisas, and each time it impressed me.
Wonderfully comfortable beds, clean rooms, manicured landscaping throughout, and a pool with plenty of lounge chairs (and a bar!).
The complimentary breakfast includes an omelet bar, which makes it much more substantial and is open from 6-10am, so no need to rush on vacation.
90% of the gay bars are within a three block radius too, which is perfect for me.

Stayed two nights here while visiting Palm springs and Joshua Tree National Park. We had a super fast check-in with room keys etc all ready for us. The room was super cool too as it was 113 degrees when we arrived. Our room was very comfortable and spacious with good furniture. We were provided with pool towels in the room and warned that there would be a 25 dollar charge for missing towels. WARNING: Don't put your towel outside on the balcony to dry like I did as mine was nicked! I did report this on checking out and was told it was okay. However, as yet I don't know if my credit card will be charged for the loss. The grounds of this hotel are very pretty with flowering plants, tables and good seating areas. The pool is lovely too though a little too warm and complimentary iced water is provided on tap. It is the type of place (apart from the intense August heat) that you could spend a relaxing afternoon reading by the pool. The price is very reasonable too at this time of year. The hotel is located just behind the main street and is therefore very convenient for walking to shops and restaurants at night time. We enjoyed our stay in this hotel.

Room Tip: Choose a second floor room.

There are many cheaper motels in Palm Springs, but you probably won't get: 1) immaculate, larger rooms with very comfortable beds and 4 comfy pillows, 2) well above-average breakfast buffet with made-to-order omelettes, Belgium waffles, and tasty bakery-quality pastries (not the usual cellophane-wrapped fare), 3) ample, secure onsite parking, 4) easy 1 block walk to the popular Thursday night VillageFest (so you don't have to find parking), 5) reliable wi-fi (1.5 Mbps), 6) professional staff.

Room Tip: This motel is not on a noisy street, so all rooms are likely quiet.

This the second time staying in this hotel, and again we were very satisfied.
Nice rooms located around the swimming pool.
Really nothing to be unsatisfied.
We had a very nice contact with the (American) people at the bar in the evening.

Room Tip: Try to have a room on the swimming pool.

I was very pleased with this hotel. It was easy walking distance to several good restaurants and bars/nightclubs. The pool water was a little bit cloudy but I'm sure it was due to all the sunscreen that the pool goers had on. The room was very nice. I went during the off season (July 2012) and the room was a steal at $100/ night for 2 queen beds.

Stayed here 14th to 16th July on our road trip from LA to Grand Canyon and back. What a delightful hotel. The weather was very hot but everywhere there are shady nooks with tables and chairs, alongside fountains, cooling sprays and beautiful flowers. The pool is delightful and the pool bar great, what lovely Margaritas! Check in was smooth and easy and our only disappointment was that our room was at the back of the hotel - ask for a view of the pool if you can. But the room itself was clean and roomy for the 4 of us, although we did struggle to adjust the air conditioning to the temp we wanted - it always felt very cool in the room. The hotel is very close to shops and restaurants as well as having its own bar where we enjoyed a (very) large glass of wine whilst watching the Tour de France on TV. Loved the cook-to-order omeletes for breakfast which we ate outside in the shade by a fountain - what a way to start the day! Great hotel at a good price, would definitely recommend.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view of the pool, third floor.
